Gas Leaking

Got home today and found a small puddle of fuel under the scooter. Still has under 1 mile on it. The only thing I did was use the side kick stand instead of the center one after I moved it this weekend. The gas seems to be coming out of a black plastic piece that has 3 vacuum hoses on one end and two nipples at the other end. The fuel is coming out of one of the nipples (the one with the arrow). Scooter wasn't running when this happened. Started it up and it runs and then after a minute gas starts coming out of it. Anybody got any ideas? Attachments:

That canister is the EVAP system the GAS TANK VENTING SYSTEM. It supposed to trap the gas fumes and allow the fuel tank to vent. You may have overfilled the gas tank and when on the sidestand the vent is probably on the left side of the tank and gas got into the vent hose and flooded the canister. Since it has charcoal in it and is soaked it is no good anymore. So JUST take the GAS TANK VENT hose off of it put a fuel filter on the end of it and zip tie it HIGHER than where it is coming off the tank. Then plug up the VACUUM LINE going to the canister and take it off. If there is a hose going to your AIR BOX or AIR TUBING plug up that connector on the AIR BOX or Air Tubing.
The other hose with a cap on it is from the VALVE COVER VENT HOSE and it traps any oil being squirted out. You can drain it out and clean out the little filter in the little box the VALVE COVER VENT hose connects to THAT ALSO HAS TO VENT. Alleyoop

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]The gas tank is on the bottom of the bike and the canister is above it already. Would it still get gas in it just by over filling? Gauge says 3/4 of a tank. I have run it off and on while doing a very slow going PDI. Has 3 hoses attached to it, so I guess they are the 3 you spoke of. Will do some searching online and eyeball where they are going. Just getting to this and that as I can. Wife and I still need to get a motorcycle license anyway so no big hurry. Thanks Alley.
