On my Reflex the rear was getting thin at 30,000 and the front will last much, much longer.

The time that stands out in my memory is when I was riding my Honda GL500 Interstate from Tucson to NW Arkansas to visit my parents. That bike easily did 50+ MPG so Tucson to Deming NM was easy. Except there was about 20-25 mile head wind. It ran out miles before Deming but I was within sight of a station. Had just started pushing when a car stopped and the driver pulled a gas can from his trunk and gave me a gallon or so and would not take anything for it. Then the battery was so weak it would not start so we turned it around so the wind was behind and push started it. Found a new battery at Checker in Alamogordo NM. Ahh those were the days.

Way back in ancient history I was driving an old GMC company truck when the vehicle in front of me lost a wheel that hit a car coming the opposite direction sending it at least 100 feet in the air and then landed on the front fender and windshield post (missed the window) and drove the front corner of the truck down one and a half inches. That was when they made heavy truck bodies.

That is beautiful country. We spent considerable time in the area this past summer. I loved my 150 Znen but needed to move to 250 to be able to run faster highways.

I'm really happy with my Honda Reflex. Found a '07 Silverwing with 14,000 last spring for $2k.

Leo, from the day I installed that tire I pushed it hard on corners (we were in greater Pittsburg area where there are a lot of really crooked roads and then in eastern Ohio, same kind of roads. ) Perfect road holding all of the way. I even purposely hit some narrow spots where rain washed sand onto the road in corners. Front wheel slipped but rear did not. In my opinion those who speak out against it have never tried it. It is hard for me to believe that none of the B & M tire stores could even order that size and I talked to a lot of them as we traveled across the US. Big O, Discount, etc. The mechanical disk brake is a parking brake that make a very effective brake in case of hydraulic failure. The rear brake handle operates the rear single piston brake and one of the three front pistons together, the front lever operates the other two front pistons

If I knew for sure that the Elio will not turn out to be another Jim Bebe's Bede 5 event I think I would sell my Smart and order one. I'd still have the motor home, my Reflex, and an older Plymouth Voyager work wagon so I could wait a reasonable time for it. (My wife is in a Hospice care facility with only a few days to go so my lifestyle is about to change dramaticly very soon,)

Now with about 3000 miles on that Yokohama 145R12 tire I can say that I am totally satisfied with it. A different variator that shifted out slower would be in order since the tire is so much larger in diameter.
