It's made for pre mix, OR injection systems.(says so on the label). I have an injection system on my BWS. I would normally use Yamalube, but this was all that was available (Sunday, and nothing was close). It wasnt cheap, it cost more than what the Dealer charges.
I just wasnt sure if this would be a suitable alternative to Yamalube. As I mentioned, the scooter operated normally all the way home, probably a 30 minute ride. And also this morning, it's running normal. A little smoke on start-up, disappears in 2 minutes.
Should be ok?

So long story short, I was stuck, out of options, and I had NO choice but to use this oil. To NOT use it, meant leaving the scooter I JUST bought at the base of a bridge, where it would surely be towed or vandalized. LOL that's life I suppose!! So, all I could get my hands on was this Formula 1, 2stroke engine oil. It SEEMS to be working just fine. Will this oil work for my 03' BWS? Or should I drain it and get new oil? Thanks so much!!

So I bought a 2003 Yamaha BWS today (In Canada). The battery is shot, and everything on it is written in Chinese. The scooter did not come with a manual unfortunately.
So can anyone tell me what model battery it needs?
Thanks!!

It was the oil! Still some old oil in the system I guess, cuz now it's fine. Just the normal amount of smoke :-)
So now, it's running good, it's not smoking, it's ready for summer, BUT! Now the electric start has become intermittent. It was working JUST fine, and now it only engages when it feels like it.
Have an idea as to where to start looking first?
Thanks!!

Well the compression is over 120psi, so I have doubts about it being piston rings. I cant really over fill it, its got an oil tank.
Hmmmm

OK! Gas is swapped, oil is new, and now it smokes BLUE instead. A lot of blue!
I've owned plenty of scooters, in this is by far the smokiest. Is this usual for a BW's? I noticed that there is a missing bolt where the exhaust bolts on to the cylinder and there is a little exhaust leaking through. It should be two bolts holding it on, and I only have one. Could this cause excessive blue smoke out the rear of the exhaust?
Thanks for the help!!

So, my 2000 BW's is very new to me. Is there any way to tell while it sits there if the oil pump is working or not? The back of the engine is CAKED in oil. So I want to clean it off and use pre-mix for the time being.
What's the best way to bypass the pump? Also, does anyone know what a good mix ratio is for this scooter?
Thanks!!

Re-posting this in the right section. Sorry everyone!!
So I bought a 2000 Yamaha BW's the other day from a guy who said it was parked before winter, and hasn't run since. He said it needed a tune-up, but we all know that can mean ANYTHING. It was however, stored indoors, in a semi-warm underground garage.
I got it home to get started. First, the battery was toast, so I replaced it. The bike turned over, but wouldn't start. So I checked for spark and compression, both are good. I knew the fuel would be old, but I figured it would do for now (I know, not a great idea).
I took out the plug and sprayed a little quick start on it and tried starting it. It would start at first with the elec. start, but it DID fire with the kicker.
So now it's running, but its blowing SO MUCH WHITE SMOKE!!
Could this be the old fuel and oil? Any thought's as to the white smoke?
Thank you so much!!

I would get a proper compression tester. They're cheap. Until then, you can put just a little oil into the cylinder. If it fires, you probably have bad compression.
