So I bought a 2000 Yamaha BW's the other day from a guy who said it was parked before winter, and hasn't run since. He said it needed a tune-up, but we all know that can mean ANYTHING. It was however, stored indoors, in a semi-warm underground garage.
I got it home to get started. First, the battery was toast, so I replaced it. The bike turned over, but wouldn't start. So I checked for spark and compression, both are good. I knew the fuel would be old, but I figured it would do for now (I know, not a great idea).
I took out the plug and sprayed a little quick start on it and tried starting it. It would start at first with the elec. start, but it DID fire with the kicker.
So now it's running, but its blowing SO MUCH WHITE SMOKE!!
Could this be the old fuel and oil? Any thought's as to the white smoke?
Thank you so much!!
