I had loud valve tapping, it went away after a minute. Checked valves again. Then took for a test ride. I got 2 miles down the road and the engine seized up and the piston rod poked through the case.
Better safe than sorry, I would take that head off and check everything.
I may have still had a scooter without a blown engine. But I sold it and some other guy put his engine in and is enjoying it now.

If your bike has a clutch then one I think should know how to shift it without using the clutch.... Had a clutch cable break coming home from work once.. You can shift them without the clutch and without grinding the gears, but it does take practice to do it smoothly... Interesting....... I thought you would have to just be stuck in that gear until you pulled the cable somehow

seems like there should be a 6th gear if you have to shift into 5th at 40+mph
I drive 40-45 in my car for best constant speed mileage and I wish it had a 5th gear.
4 speed auto Nissan sentra
I heard many bigger bikes have a 6th gear but sure would be nice on a 250 cruiser.
That's where that sprocket change comes in

I'm just curious and wanted to see what speeds people shift their bikes to.
1st, 2nd , 3rd, 4th, 5th...maybe 6th...

I'd rather choose a single cylinder for simplicity and less parts to worry about and better mileage. I guess this is one of those things where it comes down to rider preference on the ride and some on ergonomics. Looking off cycle-ergo.com/ and putting in the V-star 250 and 650 models..... they don't look much different. I have on there and been cycling through Suzuki GZ250 94degree knee angle all for a 6' 3'' person Suzuki Tu250x 76 degree knee angle Yamaha V-star 101 degree knee angle Honda Rebel degree knee angle 2004 Suzuki Savage 650cc 97 degree knee angle For all of these they look small compared to the "stick figure" on there. If only I was a little bit shorter, I wish I was little bit smalla, I could be a baller, If I had a girl who looked good I'd call her It really goes I wish I was a little bit taller I wish I was a baller Sucks being taller sometimes picking out 250cc bikes

I was looking up KBB motorcycle values comparing to dealer prices and the dealers mark up their price 300 or more dollars More than what the KBB price says for an EXCELLENT condition vehicle from DEALER. When I go, I know not to pay the sticker price and haggle down a little from the price and I'm fine paying the KBB price at dealer if its in excellent condition. Yeah TU had a 76 degree knee bent angle for me 6' 3'' Honda Rebel degree knee angle t V-star has a 101 degree angle very much more relaxed looking. I might go with a Rebel because of sooo many options to choose Brand new, year old, 3 years old, and 8 years old and in between Ones with windshields and saddlebags. I just wish the TU was more suited for my legs.

I've narrowed down 2 motorcycles I'd want buy. the TU250X And The Yamaha V-Star 250
Have you riden one or owned one?
I want to know what your experiences are on this bike.
Costs about the same at the TU and is a little more common on craigslist in my area. Most common cruiser 250 being the Honda Rebel.

I'm all about getting the best reasonable mileage I can.
I think I'd do the 16 tooth sprocket after riding it stock for a while then might change the rear sprocket.

So what kind of upgrades can you do on this bike to make it faster/ more top speed? About all I know is a front and rear sprocket changes for the best bang for the buck. After that I wouldn't even worry about doing anything else, for me anyway. Just ride

Yeah I'm not a fan of forward lean or sport bikes for that reason.
Sure I can't argue they look cool and are fast but I just don't like them.
Course like the saying "can't knock it until you tried it".
Although I got three bike I narrowed down to.
1. Tu250X Suzuki 2. Honda Rebel or Honda shadow 250 cruiser bikes 3. Yamaha V-Star 250
Or similar models, I want to try a name brand motorcycle for my next ride. I had enough headaches and tinkering with the china scooter I had.

Says right there, "2002 Suzuki SV650" On my page it says "Please do not hot link images" in that spot. But I see it where you typed it again.

After looking at different 250cc motorcycles and comparing ergonomics I like having more leg room angle. i I've been eyeing the TU250X Suzuki and even have it as my background. But it looks like it might be more of a crampt ride for me even though it has a higher seat height. I still need to test ride one to know for sure.
Honda Rebel 250 is a little bigger knee angle and there are a lot on craigslist with low miles under 10,000 miles.
I'm seriously considering the Yamaha V-Star 250 for the leg room which is the biggest knee angle for me.
Good thing is all these three bikes are around 4,400 bucks or less new from the dealer.
Though in my area the TU250X is hard to find. I went to a dealer and they sold the one they had and said they had to put together one in its place.
Seeing all the bikes there inside and out in the parking lot there with just one TU gave me the idea that maybe they sell out pretty quick.
I can't find them on craigslist either unless its an older model name. But theres a crap ton of Rebel's!

I found out the motorcycle I thought would be good for me because of a 30" seat height has a more crampt knee angle 76 desgrees for me with a 34inch inseam. Even a Honda rebel which I have stood next to looks small but it said on there its a bigger knee angle. degrees Yamaha V star 250 has a 101 degree knee angle. So I have an idea on what 250cc standard/cruiser bike I'd want. Then I can just go to the dealer and sit on one at least and test ride when the time comes.
