It all depends on how strong your motor is, has to have good low end power and torque to be able to pull the taller gearing. I have 30 more ccs on my motor 182 from 149.6cc and it pulls the 16/37 gears real good so I am going little taller. Alleyoop Alley, what are you going to do with your 16/37 gears? |

I lost my license for a dwi. I am still riding a scooter because I have to have transportation to and from work, and everything else. Is that your question why I'm still riding? Or why I'm riding a 150 with no license? I ride a 150 with no license because I wanted a 150 with power, and would not rather get blowed off the road by cars, and mean people. The Judge was wrong when my Attorney proved that it was an Unvalid License check, I was wrongfully arrested and detained, the Cheif of Police lied under oath, and admitted he was not the supervising officer over the license check. So, The Chief gets away with Lying, Kasey Anthony got out of killing her kid, John Edwards lied got out of his crap, etc. So Im gonna ride whatever I want to stick it back to them! Lol! My town is small, the local cops dont care what you ride, as long as you dont act stupid. The cops are friendly with me, and pretty much know my Scooter isnt a 50. I dont have a tag, insurance, License, etc. Besides, mine looks like a ViP 50 anyways. I guess you could call it a sleeper. It will keep up and pass traffic on my local highway which speed limit is 55. I've been riding this scooter for 2 years now. So, you were driving while drunk, got stopped and arrested and the cops lied. Does that change the fact that you were driving while drunk?? Or that you got caught and the cops lied? Main thing is, if you're driving drunk, and hit me, or my kids, and got no lic,, no ins, I'm fvked. Look at my avatar, and see what happens when a person gets hit by a drunk driver while on a motorcycle. I gotta live the rest of my life with no leg, and the drunk driver has served his 'SUSPENDED' sentence, and got him a new truck, and his life is back to normal, mine will never be. So, no , i feel no sympathy for drunk drivers, who still drive, sometimes drunk. I don't care where you gotta go, find some other way, which is why you don't have a DL. Carry on Dave I wasnt drinking and driving on a scooter, it was a car. Which I agree was wrong. Im still on a scooter because of that situation in the past. I wasnt drunk either. It was just on my breath. When they took me to the jail to blow in the machine, the machine wouldnt work right for some reason, and it printed out 2 slips 0.00 both times, but they gave me a refusal. If I were going to refuse, I would not have blown to start with. Anyways, I'm sorry for your situation, and hope you are doing well, God bless you! |

My 17 36 gears work great gained top end and no loss of acceleration but me and ally have strokers not sure yours will pull the taller gears on a stock crank. yea, thats what I was thinking....I might order me a big stroker crank too, in the very near future, just not sure how big though. |

18*36 might be too tall. Thats the problem now, I understand gearing, and know how to install them, just not sure which set to get now?

Thanks Alley, I understand clearly now. What was confusing, was that on Scrappys site, it says 15T for long case (which is mine) and 18T for short case. Now I guess I just have to figure out what size I want....Your going with 18*36, so I guess that might be suitable for me.....I will probably get the 18T kit from Scrappys for $39.  |

Can I use the 18T kit that Scrappydogs offers? The other kit they offer is 15T, which I already have 15*36 installed. Would 18T be too much? |

Doublert how does it compare to the stock variator ? Try sliders instead of rollers before you sell it . I heard good things about Koso as I am looking to get one for my 2T and test it out . I have a Kos look a like, I think its called "Growsun" which works better than the Dr. Alley said the Dr. is good with low speeds/powerband, so im just sticking with my Koso knock off, the quality of it is good too. I'll be getting my license back soon, so not really worried about it I dont guess.... |

I put in 17/36 gears helped a bunch can cruise at 65 on the 55 mph highway and keep up with traffic at 3/4 throttle which is probably 55 GPS. I lost my license a few years back for child support and rode my modded 50cc for a bit without a license but got it all paid off and now I have a motorcycle license and insurance its awesome to be 100 percent legal. Millsc, Where can I get 17/36 gears? I already have 15/36 in now. I have seen 16/37 or something like that? Could I put in 17/36? |

Yes take the 2K contra spring out and put in the OEM one that will lower your rpms by allowing the engine to open the clutch pulley much easier with less rpms. Alleyoop I lost my license for a dwi. I am selling my Dr. Pully Variator, (no weights included) Or will trade for some Taller gears like 16*36 or 17*36. I installed it 2 different times and it only had maybe 4 miles put on it. It is in like new condition in the original box. It is for the 150 gy6 scooters. I paid $110.55 for it. Accepting offers. If interested my number is : 336.250.9110 Please no low ball offers. I tried using my Dr. Pulley Variator again with 14g rollers, with my BBK upgrades, and I still didnt like the results. Maybe it would work fine for someone else,dont get me wrong, It is supposed to be the best from what I have read, But I will be selling it. I gave $110.55 for it, so If anybody wants it, make me an offer, and I will ship it to you. Hello all,
I will soon be riding about a 20-30 mile trip to work, at least til I get my license back at end of April. My scooter that I am talking about is in my sig. below also I need to add that it has the NCY 61mm BBK, matching big valve head, and A10 cam. I already have gears installed, but I want to lower my RPMs and it feels like it has too much motor and not enough gearing, I put 14g Hoca rollers in, but I still want to lower it. My speeds are 50-56 cruising at about 6500 RPMs. Should I take out the 2k main spring? would that help?
