Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here. My scooter is making a weird snipity sound? We did the 61mm NCY BBK matching big valve head, and A10 cam, back in December, done got some miles on it. Thought it was an exhaust leak, but we think it might be the head gasket. It definitely sounds like a leak of some kind. Its been making this sound for a while, and has recently become worse. Not really sure how to describe the sound, just a poppy snippy sound. It used to go away after it warmed up good, but idk....what does blown head gasket sound like? Btw, I can't really tell any power loss for some reason?

I've tried many filters I like the two stage uni filter the best seems to flow best and I ride in all weather with it. As long as its oiled properly it works fine I ride in rain and snow no issue. I got a K&N type conical, little bit of rain and its fine, if it pours, my bike runs sluggish. I rigged up a cut up inner-tube to go around my filter, I'm still working on bettering my stuff for rain...

I'm very sorry! I did not mean to ask a question or post something on Christmas day! I'm very sorry for being disrespectful guys! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Like I said right after you start it put your hand by the muffler and then smell and look at your hand. It could be fuel since the ENRICHER is feeding it extra fuel and or if you had to crank it over a few times unburned fuel will come out white looks like smoke. If its bluish then that is oil that may have sipped past the valve stem, and only happens on starts and goes away until the next cold start. Alleyoop So what do I do? Unplug the enricher?

I did the ncy 61mm kit it was harder to get the piston over the jug the compression rings are super stiff and the oil rings slipped out of the slot twice. I had to take the piston off twice and rearrange the oil rings hopefully you didn't fold one of the thin oil rings into the same place as the other, it did that to me twice. Only kit I've had this issue with and it would definitely cause it to smoke if this happened. Millsc, your doing the same kit as mine? Yea my brother had a hard time with the rings like you did, he finally got them right, it smokes on start ups a little, sometimes it doesn't smoke at all...other than that it runs super great! And I even like the power, even though I haven't gone over 40mph, and not even hitting 1\2 throttle, and staying at 5000rpms, till I feel comfortable after break in period.

I would say lean but all bikes are different it smokes some when first starting up, it idles perfect, stops smoking after about 30 seconds, runs great, I'm just riding slowly for the break in period only 40mph, I can really tell a difference in power and performance!

Rich with a 112.5 my 60mm is slightly lean with a 115 I'm going to run a 117 with my 61mm when it comes in so are you saying that I might be lean?

The 18/46 gears had good acceleration better than stock actually. But to reach 50 and beyond you'll need a big valve ported head along with performance exhaust. I ran mine with a 24mm carb no spacer some say its too big but the ports on the performance head are made for the stock 150cc manifold. You need to max everything to get speeds over 50 gears alone won't do it. Big valve head a9 camshaft 24mm carb uni filter hi pro exhaust work great together. Buford here on the forum makes the best heads they create tons of power. The head makes a huge difference in power and also determines the compression ratio. Who is Buford? Which heads does he make?

got it fixed! Everything runs great! Dang what the power! good to hear. what was the problem? * i only ask so i/we can learn. i don't know how many times i have researched something online and the thread dies before it reaches a conclusion.my brother said he had it way too rich. Had to push 2 miles home tonight cause we didn't charge the battery good enough....

On the 50cc, there are three oil rings, and they should be set at 120 degrees apart from each other for uniform spacing. There are two regular rings and a wavy ring that goes between them. Not sure if that is true for a 150cc. the rings are the same . got it fixed! Everything runs great! Dang what the power! John

did you correctly install the rings? it will burn oil and smoke if the rings were not correctly installed or so i have heard. good luck figure it out. maybe someone else has a better answer for you as i am still learning myself. I just asked my brother, and yes, he did the rings right 180 opposite from each other. I guess some stuff needs to burn off. IDK....

Guess some stuff needs to burn off, kinda like the Two brothers exhaust we put on it, that thing smoked like a crop duster, and had me worried! I thought something was terribly wrong! Guess that's what's going on now....

Got my BBK finished last night, and when we finally got it running, it is smoking when you hit the throttle. Is this normal? Valves are at .004, main jet is 112.5 it sounds fine. It has had the same gas in it for about 2 months- non ethanol. Maybe it just needs ran a little bit? I haven't ridden it yet, just on the center stand....
