I depends on your idea of decent. I have a MC-54-250B Roketa and I think it is great, 1000 miles this month.

I also ride in the rain. I use my scooter for a commute to and from work. It does not matter, sun or rain, I ride 20 miles each way. Good rain gear, bright yellow florescent jacket with reflective stripes, good gloves and a full face. Oh, and it also helps I am on a MC-54-250B with full frontal fairings and tall windshield. I did 1000 miles last month and half was in the rain.

I have a Roketa like that and they are very nice. You will love it once it is going. Looks like a good deal even if you have to do some work on it. Good luck.

Please tell me more about those. I assume these are a driving type light? How well do they work? How many amps to they draw? Where did you get them? Thanks, I could use something like this on my 250 Scoot

I am in no way wanting to bash the 150cc scooters, but it seems that if speed is what you need, top end, then sell the 150 and get a 250. The difference in price will be what you would have spent to make the 150 go faster and the 250 will out last it at the higher speeds. A good used 250 can be had for $1500 or even less if you do some looking. I got mine for $1000 with 500 miles on it. However, like has been said, BBK, cam, exhaust, bigger valves, CDI, Coil, jets, air filter, sliders, clutch, MONEY, will be the things you need to go fast.

OK, I found one. It is a storefront church out in McKenna Wa. About 25 miles from Olympia. Cowboy Baptist Church, the other half of the building has a hair salon in it. The next one is of a Church turned into a store(Gun Shop), just for fun. BTW, it is 1/4 mile from the storefront church. And now for the next Tag, find a Latte, Espresso stand, road side stand alone style. Should be easy if you are in the NW, one on every corner. Well, happy hunting, ride safe and have fun.

Great job Earl. Its great to see you out enjoying Texas and a great scooter. I just started to ride the same exact scoot. I am riding about 200 miles a week. This gives me hope that it will last.

its a great scooter, I would just like to know if I am about to run out of gas, or have 100 miles to go.

Yes, basicly. However the specs say it has a 3.9 gallon tank and I don't think that is right. I know the fuel gauges are not accurate in these things but I was empty according to the gauge and it only took 2.1 gallons to fill. Earl on the old forum had the same issue, only took 2.5 gallons to fill his. Just wanted to know if anyone knew what the real capacity was.

Have you guys see under the hood of a modern car lately? These scooters might take a little work to get to some things, but most modern cars are 10 times worse. Most V6 cars you have to have extreme yoga flexibility to get to the rear spark plugs after removing half the engine crap. I had all the panels off the back of my 250B this weekend and it took me about 20 min to put it all back. I could see from the radiator back, bare frame.

Well, thanks for the input. I will just get good quality DOT 4 and change it annually.

I have a new to me 2008 MC-54-250B. I love this scooter and I have been riding the heck out of it, and now have a few questions. BTW, mine is 257 Linhai powered. 1. What size is the fuel tank? I put in 2.1 gallons to fill it from the red zone. 2. Is there any way to make the speedometer read accurate? New gear, Honda Reflex head or drive? (GPS varified about 20% slow) 3. I had to take all the rear plastic off to adjust the valves(not too bad and runs great), I noticed that the rear shocks have 2 mounting positions, mine are in the forward ones. Why? would it help make it smoother to move them to the rear? Would Honda Reflex shocks bolt on and make it smoother. They look the same. I changed out the oil and gear oil to Royal Purple full synthetic (@700 miles) and put in a new plug after adjusting the valves. I read that the factory coolant is no good, is that true? I also read to use either Prestone that mixes with all types or Zerex Z05? What is best to use? I want/need this scooter to be as reliable as possible and don't mind splurging on the good stuff to make it happen. What else can I do to help keep it going for the long haul? I am a Mechanic(certified), but on Aircraft, heavy equipment and auto/diesel. I have not worked on bikes much, but ready to dig in. Thanks for your help, Scott

Oh, good to know. I had planned to completely flush and refill with DOT 5, but I will just get good quality DOT4.

Is it ok to use DOT 5 brake fluid in scooters? I have a MC-54-250B, but that should not matter. The master says DOT 3 or 4, but I know synthetic is better and want my scoot to last.
