i just sold my atm50 had over 15,000km. i used 15w40 engine oil and 80w90 gear oil. i would change both a.s.a.p. breaking in a new engine you really should change engine oil at 100km, at 500km, at 1000km and then every 1,000km. the gear oil doesn't need to be replaced as often. i did mine about every 3,000km. i forget what the book recommends so refer to your owners manual since my numbers may not be accurate. i believe my owners manual said at least octane. i have used with 10% ethanol with no major problems but if you have access to ethanol free fuel and don't mind paying a little extra then skip the corn. you are probably going to need (or want) to unseal the carburetor or buy an aftermarket carb so you can keep it tuned. i bought my atm50 used and replaced the original battery around 8,000km. i've heard keeping them on a trickle charger can make them last longer but i never done that. as far as octane they run better with 87 and don't worry about ethanol content just about all the gas around has UP TO 10% ethanol in ALL the grades. These are China made motors and basically lawnmover engines they do not need high octane they are not high compression motors. Alleyoop i always thought we needed to use premium. dang owners manual must been written by OPEC.

i was going to suggest checking the pickup coil after you said you replaced the CDI. i don't know how to test though so may want to get more info before you go needlessly replacing parts.

i originally set both to .005 on my new 150cc. was way too noisy so i reset them to .004 and seems to be good. i'd go with .004 on both.

three hour session today. nothing big to report, average win of $66. so some of you know i'm selling my atm50, had a guy tell me he wants it today and we agreed on $300. was suppose to meet up with him tonight but he changed it to tomorrow. not sure how serious he is now and he didn't give me a deposit so i rode it to the casino for a little advertisement. their is a section marked off for motorcycles right by the door. it is usually filled with scooters. figured someone might want it just for the convenience of front row parking. no phone calls though, i'll see what happens tomorrow. edit: not gonna bump this thread again since very few members are interested but i did want to make one last update for anyone that hunts this thread down. thursday night got 3 hours in winning $165 + $300 high hand bonus. nearly all of the profits came from pocket 7's. new player in early position raised to $10, two players called and i called with 77 on button, big blind calls. flop A73 and 2 clubs. checks to raiser and bets $30, folds to me and i take a few seconds to call. want it to appear like i am on the flush draw, especially if he doesn't have the ace. heads up on the turn and he bets $45, again i take a few seconds counting my chips, thought about raising all-in since i only had $100 left but if he doesn't have the ace he might fold. so i just call and hope to get the rest in on the river. to my surprise i hit quad 7's, he checks, i go all-in quickly and he calls. i scoop the pot and my quad 7's are good for $300 bonus. sweet! adding 4 more bills to the poker roll. i've tripled the money i set aside for poker in the past week. gonna keep padding my roll until i can comfortably move up to the bigger game. anyhow, i won't bore you guys with my poker stories anymore. cheers!

That's why I always ask for more then I will take. People want to feel like that are getting a deal and want to be able to get something lower then asking price. Just human nature. Had you put 500 on it they would offer 400 and everyone would be happy. true but i was willing to take $300 considering the body isn't in gr8 shape. think i have it sold, guy just now checked it out and offered me $300. suppose to call me back with the money so we shall see. but yeah, after riding it around earlier it feels more like a $400 bike, lol.
