made nearly $500 in about 2 hours playing $1/$2 no limit hold'em at the casino about 3 miles down the road. was running hot obviously but the competition tonight was LOL bad. had a guy call my all-in bet on the turn holding QQ. board was K3J8.. i had KK, nice flop for me and shocked he doubled me up with QQ on that board. he reloaded and i took all his chips less than an hour later with AQ vs his KJ on QJ6 A2... love this game. i haven't played much in the past year. todays win nearly doubles the roll i had set aside for poker. definitely going to get back in the game now. i was even planning to add the cash i got for selling my atm50 to my poker roll but may not have to now. a grand should give me a big enough cushion to start booking some wins. anyone else play poker? what am i saying??? everyone plays poker... but does anyone have a passion for the game like i do?

I like playing poker, but I'm not a gambler. I don't really care about the money so much, but it's hard to play poker seriously when playing for free. Penny poker was fun growing up-- still is if it's just family/friends having fun.
I've never played in a casino, and usually only a couple times a year with friends anymore. I used to play in the $25-30 buy-in tourney at the local Moose Lodge for about a year---usually about 30-50 people would show. I played a couple times last Fall-- but that was the first time there in about 3 years. I played in that for the money though, I won't lie!
I split the main pot with an older guy there awhile back--- about a grand total for 1st and 2nd combined, I got $492 total to be exact, after splitting. Finished 3rd once or twice and made the final table a few time besides that but got busted out before cashing.
Good job by the way!

another good night on the poker table. not nearly as nice as sunday night but i want to keep this topic alive. won $139 in about 3 hours. session started out slow not getting any good spots. finally got AK on the button and misplayed it against a decent player. so my initial $100 buy-in was gone after i got it all-in on a king high board vs his KK. i should have known better when he raised to $15 preflop but i was so card dead that AK looked like gold at the time. so i rebought for another $100 and slowly built it to $339 and cashed out. adding another $100 to the poker roll. on a side note, i saw a guy that looked exactly like jamie gold i can't say for certain if it was him but he was playing in the high limit room so it is definitely possible. think they were playing $10/$25 no limit. edit: i'm going to say it was him. just now see he lent his name to a poker room in palm beach that opened last week. so he is or was in the area. man would i love to get in that game, he is terrible at the game, lol. ok, maybe not terrible but definitely not good.

That's funny how you brought up Jamie Gold. I'm not a big fan of him either, but the 2005 and 2006 WSOP Main Events are the 2 that I enjoyed watching the most. I didn't watch last the last 2 years on TV though.
Speaking of TV, I bet you watched High Stakes Poker on GSN? I miss that show. I think there were 4 or 5 seasons---and the last one wasn't as good without Gabe as the announcer (Norm MacDonald). Jamie was a disaster whenever he played..hahaha.
On a side-note, I"d probably play the small tourney at the Moose, but I always seem to work Wednesdays lately. Maybe I'll play there soon if I get time.
Once again, good job!

Once again, good job! time to put in for a day off. thanks, would have gone yesterday (monday night) but wasn't feeling well. gonna try to get in the game as often as possible. i've been away from the tables for too long. should have got back in much sooner, probably would have had money for that 250cc by now.

three hour session today. nothing big to report, average win of $66. so some of you know i'm selling my atm50, had a guy tell me he wants it today and we agreed on $300. was suppose to meet up with him tonight but he changed it to tomorrow. not sure how serious he is now and he didn't give me a deposit so i rode it to the casino for a little advertisement. their is a section marked off for motorcycles right by the door. it is usually filled with scooters. figured someone might want it just for the convenience of front row parking. no phone calls though, i'll see what happens tomorrow. edit: not gonna bump this thread again since very few members are interested but i did want to make one last update for anyone that hunts this thread down. thursday night got 3 hours in winning $165 + $300 high hand bonus. nearly all of the profits came from pocket 7's. new player in early position raised to $10, two players called and i called with 77 on button, big blind calls. flop A73 and 2 clubs. checks to raiser and bets $30, folds to me and i take a few seconds to call. want it to appear like i am on the flush draw, especially if he doesn't have the ace. heads up on the turn and he bets $45, again i take a few seconds counting my chips, thought about raising all-in since i only had $100 left but if he doesn't have the ace he might fold. so i just call and hope to get the rest in on the river. to my surprise i hit quad 7's, he checks, i go all-in quickly and he calls. i scoop the pot and my quad 7's are good for $300 bonus. sweet! adding 4 more bills to the poker roll. i've tripled the money i set aside for poker in the past week. gonna keep padding my roll until i can comfortably move up to the bigger game. anyhow, i won't bore you guys with my poker stories anymore. cheers!

ok, so i know i said i wouldn't bump this thread again but i can't resist. went to the casino early today, big mistake. got there around 12:45pm and had to wait about 35 minutes before a seat opened up. played for 3.5 hrs and got crushed losing $280. biggest loss since i been back... sigh. went home, relaxed for awhile and decided to go back to play the evening crowd. got there around 8:45pm and had to wait about 30 minutes for a seat. sat down on a really good table with $200. lost the first hand i played and from that point on seemed like every hand was a winner. even many hands i was folding would have won. game died 2hrs into my session and i cashed out $716 for $516 profit. sweet! minus my huge loss from earlier ended up being a $236 day. with todays score i have quadrupled my initial poker roll. still be awhile before i jump in the bigger game. i probably need to quadruple my current roll or at least triple it before i take a shot at $2/$5. anyway, it's been going well, spent a little of my winnings but mostly just adding to the roll for now. i can't wait until i can buy that 250cc with poker winnings.
