found these 3 pieces in my oil pan drain plug. any clue what part of the engine (157QMJ) they belong? here is another pic so you can get an idea of the size

I'm guessing here, and a picture will tell us a lot.... it might be a spring from one of the seals.... or part of a bearing cage? Have you had the valve cover off recently? Maybe something got thru the cam chain cavity? i did a valve adjustment about a month ago so yeah i'm fairly certain that was after my last oil change. i don't know what could have fell in, i usually try to be careful. although i did have the air hose off the carb for multiple days recently. really not much traffic in the garage but i guess something could have fell in. i'll post pics soon.

OK so i took that piece apart and found the valve had 2 pieces of metal. one thin for the valve and one thick that was curved and screwed in place on top of the valve. took that off and pounded it flat with a hammer. put it back together and seems to be a good seal. that plus the gasket maker and i believe i'm good to go.
after i was done putting all the plastic back i did an oil change. found 3 small pieces of metal. thin as wire and shaped like a chain link. i'll post pictures later tonight or tomorrow. i'm wondering what part of the engine it's from. never seen anything like it in my oil before.

this isn't mine but it is the same. i removed the hose then i used a bolt and gasket maker to attempt to seal the hole. i'm guessing it will work but probably won't know until tomorrow. anyone have some fool proof advice to seal that hole so i don't have to do it again tomorrow.

little over a month ago my air box hose was cracked. bought a replacement but it didn't have an opening for the egr system. OK, i thought no problem, i've read you can run these scoots without it. needless to say it ran poorly but still ran. over the next couple weeks i tried to solve the poor idle and believe i eventually made it worse. about 2 weeks ago i couldn't keep it running long enough to ride so it's been sitting.
so as time went on i forgot i never hooked the egr back up. today i researched how to remove all of it. now it's completely removed but i'm not sure how to plug the exhaust valve. had an idea to put a bolt and seal it with gasket maker. it takes awhile for that stuff to dry and i'm not sure if it;s going to work. i've read some remove the top piece and screw in a metal plate. i don't have the tools to drill or the metal plate so want to use a sealant.
any ideas? should i just let it dry over night or is their something that will work better?

i ruined my lungs working with rust-oleum spray paint during a summer job. everyday i came home blowing red paint out of my nose. the company didn't provide a mask and i didn't know any better.
this seems like a cool product but please wear a mask to protect your health.

i had an issue with my throttle sticking. the internal cable became frayed. i had to replace the throttle cable. if your scoot is new then i would suspect the cable isn't adjusted properly. if your scoot has some miles on it then it may be time for a new cable.
or it could be something as simple as the idle screw as murkyapricot mentioned. adjust the idle while on the center stand until the rear wheel stops rotating.

for weeks it's been running rough. i don't know if it's a carb problem or an electrical problem. i thought i plugged all the air leaks so i'm leaning towards an electrical problem but i really don't know. i don't have a multi-meter and i don't know how to use one anyway. i'm just really tired of fooling around with this thing. i don't have the skills to deal with carb and/or electrical issues.
tons of new parts for anyone that wants to take a shot at fixing it. it will start but runs so poorly i can't keep it running without holding throttle open.

yeah, they wear out if you remove them multiple times. a new set and you shouldn't have any more problems. Cool, any chance you know the size? I normally ride to the hardware store and bring in a spare nut or bolt for them to match, but I'm not going to be able to do that this time haha no sry. i would take it off in the parking lot unless you can find a ride.

Thats actually the nuts I am using on my cam, but they still come loose >.> The locking part has become nearly completely flat on the nuts, maybe new ones might help, yeah, they wear out if you remove them multiple times. a new set and you shouldn't have any more problems.

could pick up a few locking nuts from the hardware store if thread locker isn't working for you. i would assume it would solve your problem.
