Save yourself the headache and replace the carb with a good one. I got tired of carb issues and spent the extra money for a keihin. Never had a problem with it again

Definitely your muffler bearing.......lol
Ok sorry for that but I couldn’t resist. I’d pull the bracket on the right side. There is a support bearing in there if I remember right. Then start it up and see if it still makes that noise. If it does, then pull the wheel off and check again. If it still does it then the noise is coming from the cvt or the gear box or at least that’s my guess.

Will do. I’m trying to get the zuma finished up then I’m going to start playing with the ruckus. I’m really really thinking about making this ruckus a 650 lol. I still have the burgman motor sitting around taking up space......

Well I picked up a new (to me) scooter. Got a good deal on a ruckus so I had to grab it. I can’t believe the upgrades available for it. I want to switch the front over to disk brakes. It has a bunch of issues I need to address first but disk brakes is a definite future upgrade

Thank you. I didn’t know they made anything like that. I was actually going to make something similar but for less than 40 bucks it’s not worth wasting my time. Thanks for that link

I finally got my 180cc power kit put together with the stroker crank. Everything went pretty smooth on assembly. One issue I’m having is the shroud doesn’t want to fit. I’m assuming I will have overheating issues if I don’t run the shroud around the head and cylinder. Am I correct about this? 2nd problem is that I bought the ban jing intake manifold and oko 28mm carb. I can’t put the air filter on because it hits the motor mount. If I turn it around and face it forward like I’ve seen others do, it sits at a pretty crazy angle. Anyone have a suggestion for this and maybe a pic to go with it?

I haven’t been on for a while due to work being so busy. That being said I’ve had my 180cc big bore kit and stroker crank sitting around long enough. I’m going to start building it this weekend or next. My question is about the clutch settings to start with for this added power. I have the dr pulley variator that I’m going to run with 15 sliders. I have the oko clutch with snowflake bell. Any idea what springs I should put in to start with and for break in of the new engine. I have the red yellow and a blue main spring and I believe the same ones for the little clutch springs. Engine set up is 180cc big bore kit from ssp-g with oil cooler. Head. Cam. Cases etc. and a +2.5 stroker crank. 188cc total I believe. 28mm carb. Uni filter. Can’t remember what exhaust it is but it’s a straight thru perforated baffle. I’m 200 pounds and not sure the weight of the scooter. Any help on initial spring set up is appreciated

Got both scooters stripped down today. The 150 was a piece of cake to get apart. The burgman was like taking apart a very expensive puzzle lol. I took some pictures but I can't figure out how to load them. I'll try to figure it out when I get home.

last year I bought the hoca 180cc engine kit with cases and oil cooler. I never did get around to putting it together. I also bought a 2.5mm stroker crank which if I remember right it comes out to around 188cc’s. I am wondering if the 18/36 gearing is a good choice for this combo. Will it have enough power to use this gearing set up? We ride mostly back roads. About the only time we ride in town is when we are leaving to get out of town. Most of the time we are on 45mph and up back roads. Anyway I figure since I have this stuff I might as well put it together. I still need a good clutch and gearing, bigger carb and I think I need a spacer for the stroker crank. Has anyone used the dr pulley clutch? I have the dr pulley variator and it seems to work pretty good.

Right on. After looking at it I may keep most of the tail section from the burgman and fab it up to the 150. That way I keep all my mounting places and can keep custom work to a minimum. Still going to have to make a lot of bracing to keep it from twisting( I think). I did get it running so I can start taking it all apart as soon as I get time. I will take pics along the way

The plan is to swap the whole front to the burgman. Triple tree, forks, wheel and brakes. I can run regular handlebars this way plus the bigger wheel and brakes. It will also give me a lot better suspension that’s upgradeable and adjustable. Should be a pretty easy swap. I think the only part I need to make is an extension to make the neck longer or I may even cut the neck off the burgman and weld it on. Right now I’m just trying to make the burgman run again. Once it runs on it own I will start taking everything apart. I was able to get it started but it won’t stay running. I need to dump the tank and get some fresh fuel in it. And I want to get the starter button working. Right now I’m jumping the solenoid. I just want to know everything is working before I rip it apart

I recently acquired a totaled 650 Burgman. Front is demolished. Seat is missing. Some wires cut. It’s been sitting for a longggggg time. I’m going to transplant the 650 in to a stripped down Chinese gy6 based scooter. I was originally going to put it in my zuma until I realized how HUGE this motor and trans is. Every since I swapped out the 50cc engine for the gy6 150 I really enjoy riding it. I’m afraid with the 650 it will be fun to ride but not fun to ride all the time. I think the Chinese 650 will be a rocket on a straight away but not as agile as my zuma. Anyway it should be fun to build

felt great. Over the weekend I was actually able to get the ole scooter out and go for a little spin. Things got hectic for me toward the end of last year and it’s been sitting since October. I couldn’t believe it started right up. I’ve been so busy I never even got to install any of the parts I bought. I’m thinking tomorrow I may put the new belt on and adjust the valves. Hopefully have enough time left over for a ride.

So you're saying these motors have a bigger exhaust valve than the intake? I've never seen that before.
