yes there is a gy6 scooter there at the house i have to sell as wll with a 100cc kit installed. i found the original 50cc piston and cylinder in the garage and not far away from it in the trash pile i found a what appears to be brand new 50mm piston and cylinder. what does the 50mm piston = in cc size?

i have a gy6 vip scooter that might be a 2011 but unsure as it was built out of like 4 bad scooters but it does have the gy6 engine in it. i have an 80cc kit racing cam new carb pod filter 5 gram sliders new fuel filter and pair system removed. the scooter runs very well once warm runs fast accelerates good idles nice but when the engine is cold and you try to start it it wont kick over and requires a few minutes of ither pushing the electric start witch i know is not good for the starter or what i have been doing is kick starting it. i have to stand there kicking it over for a couple min it will start to at first sputter then a few kicks after the sputtering starts it will fire up but wont rev unless i allow it to run about 30 seconds first. if i try to rev it before that time it will stall back out.

ok i believe i have it now. 98 jet biggest one form my kit and it will run with the pod filter right on the carb but wont run right if i use the runner tube before the filter. oh well its running now has decent take off and can get to a speed of 45 on flat ground if i tuck under the handle bars.

so i ordered a jet kit and ive been through the jets from through 98 i can get it to start and idle but if i try to rev it it will just bog out and die. if i slowly give throttle it will rev up. if i put the stock air box on it revs normal i have not rode it yet its still inside the basement.

ive been meaning to take the carb apart and re check what jet i put in there because i honestly dont remember what it was. i will update as soon as the snow gives way currently the scooter is inside my basement with no plastics on it waiting for a speedo cable from china. the speed was verified with gps the day i took it out. i will also update what the jet size was before i get it outside again.

so i just noticed the oil filter screen was upside down the filter was at the bottom of the spring instead of the top. not sure how long it was like this but that's how it was when i changed the oil before i took it home and i just dident notice it was backwards till now as i was looking through the gy6 manual i have on my pc.

i did coat both the cylinder and piston/rings with oil before assembling them. the piston felt normal when going in it wasent extremely tight but had a bit of resistance going in.i actually have been using an engine cleaner product we got free from work for selling more than any other store int he first month of having the product and ive been using that to flush it. i can say that the cam chain was really tight on the assembly but the tensioner did click out when i put the spring in it i think it was 3 or 4 clicks. there was no play in the connecting rod during assembly i did check that as well.
