it is a vip future champion the tag on the panel i have says its a taotao but im unsure if its the correct panel for the bike. im also unsure if the engine on the bike is the engine that came with the bike.

I agree with one wheel,,,I think it needs to be up jetted,,,take it out for a spin after its all warmed up get it up to top speed then roll the throttle back a bit and see if the engine picks up power if it does you are lean,,,and the main jet needs to go up one or even two sizes

ive been meaning to take the carb apart and re check what jet i put in there because i honestly dont remember what it was. i will update as soon as the snow gives way currently the scooter is inside my basement with no plastics on it waiting for a speedo cable from china. the speed was verified with gps the day i took it out. i will also update what the jet size was before i get it outside again.

From personal experience, a few years ago I ordered a 139qmb that really was a 72cc(aka 80cc) and I knew/hoped it was going to be the same rather than a stock 50---- these engines weren't sold or labeled as 72cc either, on the site. I bought a few engines from there, and one was even a 63cc. I had no idea honestly, just knew it had a lot more pep, lol.
Anyway, I took the new engine for a spin hoping it had that "pep", but it didn't so I was a bit worried it was a stock 50. A simple swap of the carb (upjet) with my old one and BAM, huge difference. Without that bigger jet I couldn't tell it was a 50cc or 72cc.
I don't have a performance exhaust nor a pod filter-- although the filter in my airbox is less restrictive than most. I use jets in the low/mid 80s with my 47mm piston.
I feel like with your 80cc and pod filter, that you'll need a jet in the mid/upper 80s at the least.

I wound up getting this kit. It wasn't in stock in the US store, so I had to wait a month for it since it came from Europe. IMO, more places should sell kits like this. Most of the jets in it are "in the zone" for most modders. You get 10 jets from 80-98, in increments of 2, rather than increments of 5 that a few popular vendors here sell. If I had a parts store and had to choose only one kit, this would be the one (for the smaller engines): www.racingplanetusa.com/main-naraku-p-4762-1.html?backcPathco=25&cPath=27807_28163

so i ordered a jet kit and ive been through the jets from through 98 i can get it to start and idle but if i try to rev it it will just bog out and die. if i slowly give throttle it will rev up. if i put the stock air box on it revs normal i have not rode it yet its still inside the basement.

ok i believe i have it now. 98 jet biggest one form my kit and it will run with the pod filter right on the carb but wont run right if i use the runner tube before the filter. oh well its running now has decent take off and can get to a speed of 45 on flat ground if i tuck under the handle bars.

I have been toldeth that stock, constant velocity carbs do not liketh air box mods, and pray thee maintain the stock air box, Sirtokesalot. It may well beith a large part of thy problem.
