Right now there two bigger bargains in the class IMO. The Benelli 302 at $3999 and the new Kawasaki Z400 at around $5000. Both of these bikes have two cylinders and all the modern attachments like fuel injection. If nostalgia and simplicity are your thing the G400 is a no brainier.

Just a guess. Since these scooters are sold all over the world and engines also are put in different models it might not go anywhere on your scooter. If everything is working that probably proves it's meant for something, somewhere else.

Yes, it is what a used one cost. I had lost interest in the project and just palmed it off on the shop. The good news is they put a big bore kit on it. The better news is the work was done well. The bad news is I lost my shirt on the scooter. I had about a grand into it but sold it for $300.
It's hard to sell a 50cc scooter for much when a China scoot will go for a grand, new, for not much money.

Hopefully it's nothing expensive. The Like 50 cost me close to seven hundred in repairs for a stator install and then a replacement of the barrel and piston at a local do everything shop.

But is it hard wired to the starter too? Run a test clip wire from the battery to the out side of the solenoid. I would also look around under there to see if there's a separate starter motor. I know a DC generator will motor with current to it. An alternator has to have field current running to it to charge.

Does it really have a starter/alternator combo? I haven't seen anything like that in years. If it were me I would disconnect the wires from the solenoid and touch them together then hit the starter button and see what happens. The solenoid just protects the starter button from high tension wear and one hit won't damage it.

I think expecting full performance from a bike with four blocks on it is unrealistic.

I don't know about GY6 50cc engines but I can tell you this. When my 50cc Cub clone engine was new it struggled to reach 25 mph in fourth gear. As the miles piled up it loosened up a lot. Now, on a level road, it will do 50 mph. Be patient. Better days are coming.

I think you mean Taotao. Bashan is already selling DP bikes online. IMHO this is the opening gun in the quest of the Chinese to start making a dent in the bike market here. It should be interesting.

If you look at some of the online scooter sellers you will see various scooter Groms. While not in the same class as Bintelli, Taotao has made some very decent 50cc engines. The ATM50 has sold well and put down some serious mileage numbers.

Connecticut Scooter Pros has it listed for $1999. That price is fairly competitive and should attract buyers.

You know what would be even cooler? The 169cc variant engine as in the Lance 200i scooters plugged into it. The Lance/SYM scooters with that engine do over 60 mph.

There have been a few 150cc motorcycle scooters before this but Bintelli has worked hard to make their scooters a solid investment. I would think this will be a good vehicle for day to day use.
