Hello all, I got this Gy6 type 150cc scooter, I have a good battery and the fuse is good as well. I turn the key on and there is no lights and no electric start, no horn no nothing. I changed all the switch out, horn ,light, start kill ect. nothing works, even with the key on the instrument cluster does not do anything as well. I can turn switch on and jump the solenoid and it will crank right up, no instrument cluster while running the only thing that works is the blue light will come on when I flip to bright. what is the culprit , the stator or rectifier hmmm . OK thanks, I did have an exhaust leak, I fixed that and tuned in my air/mix closer and its ok for now. so far so good. I thought as much on the final gear for the wheels but I was going to go with the 12" wheels. don't need a wheelie monster, lol thanks man, have a bone

Thanks for the reply chewbaca, I was leaning towards the head myself, I also have some sputter backfiring going on when I come off the WOT. I was thinking maybe a valve seating problem. Would you happen to know if its a plus to have the 82cc on the long case with the 12" wheels. I already have it built with new top end . I will prob. change my forks and swap engines this weekend to see if there is any kinds of differences between the short vs long case.

In the cold morn. when starting, I use the electric start. it turns over fine for the first hit. Then its like the compression builds up. Then I kick one time it stars right up. When its hot I have to WOT with electric start to crank. valve lash is 004 both sides, and I have went up and down on the lash a little with no change. It is a taotao 139qmb with stock carb. I have 5000 miles on the scooter, I have built the engine 2 other times the same with no problems at all. anyone know what is going on with this thing ??

I got it , had wrong main jet, needed a , had a 75 in it, I had it starving lol, dang small #s thanks for the help

Gravity flow, 139qmb ,I changed all vacume lines again, and that got it to idle. Try to throttle then it wants to die, so I am guessing float not level, getting too much gas or to big of main jet. (cause I know the petcock is good) that sound about right ?

Ok everyone, here we go I have this all famous 50cc all stock Chinese Scooter. It will only start and run as long as the breather box is off and my hand over the carb., just letting the slight bit of air in. I have tried 4 carbs with same results. I have checked the enricher, Vacume leaks, Petcock, floats in the carbs was checked, jets cleaned, One of the carbs came off a stock 50cc that runs perfect with the carb. and all other carbs work on other stock scoot, I sprayed starting fluid all over the thing while I had it choked to run , no sign of vacume leaks. sprayed in intake boot nipple an ran till it burned off. What in the blazes is going on ?

Ok, Sry for the long pause , been working lots, I had a bad rocker arm set. I have a new prob., I have my lash set at 002 intake 003 ex. when I try to crank by starter it turns slow.( Battery is good ) I can kick it one time and fires right up. I drive to store, cut it off and it takes about ten kicks to get it going while hot. also it seems when it warms up I stop at a light the idel stays at a higher rpm (somewhat above normal) on the first crank via kick, it will idle at the normal, and don't ramp up for the worm up, I tried the lash at 004 on both sides both sides, too much chatter...Any idea what is up.

Ok.. I have installed the BBk, I know I am TDC. I adjust my valves and I test drive and the lash keeps changing. did this 4 times already. I did notice when I adjusted the last time , I did the intake first then the exhaust, when I went to recheck the lash the intakes gap was closed and had to do again. and every time more than usual valve tapping while running. the rocker arm tappets are not striped and it is the right head and rocker arm set. not understanding what is going on, I have done about 10 of the bbks and never had this problem.

Well I guess I will buy another petcock, and hope the new one I put on was just bought bad, and hope that's the prob, if not back to square one.

I changed the petcock, it was on the gas tank, The carb. on the scooter is new, what could be the problem. with the exhaust loading up with gas? it will crank and idle all day, gas it and it slowly builds up till it sprays out exhaust. Float seems fine, seat needle in the float seems to be working. I don't get it.. Sry it took so long to get back with ya, working way too much. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for your reply. I have Never even heard of it, I am a 4t man, but never messed with carbs, only to adjust them with air mix and jetting, other than that I have no clue on the 2t, I did replace the external petcock cause it was bad, where is it located on the carb.? and how to fix ? it is also a manual choke as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I got this Beamer lll 2 stroke off a guy for 50$ called in the vin its not hot, it looks as if it was inside put up as there seems to be no weather damage at all. it has not ran for over a year cause the carb was messed up, so I did not clean it I just bought a new one put it on and it fired up 1st go. It will sit and idle all day but when I give it gas real hard it floods the head and blows gas out the tail pipe. I took the carb off checked the float valve and all seems to be in order with the sealing and all. Is there something that I am missing
