It's a 50. I got it as a non running project. I got it going and heard that rattle, then it was gone. Now it's back. I'll take off the cvt cover tonight and take a look

I hear a rattle - possibly in my cvt. Can you hear it too? What do you think it is?

I know, I know..."nonstating tao tao" is redundant
I got this non running scooter in a trade. I've never worked on 4 strokes before. I've futzed with 2 strokes though. I got everything put together, changed out the lines, cracked open the carb and noticed it looked like it never had a drop of gas in it. So I gassed it up and it won't start. Could still be the carb. I'll let your ears be the judge
Pardon the messy garage.

Hi all I'm also a new member of the scooter doc forum, so if I repeat myself I apologize. I'm mark from St. Louis and I got a taotao atm50 in a trade. I've worked on puch maxis and chineese bike engine kits but I'm a total scooter noob. Right now I am trying to correct a hot wired electrical system and buying the missing parts. I'm doing this mostly for fun and for the learning experience. And I've already learned quite a bit thanks to several folks on the forum.
Quick question while I have your attention : I need a cover for the variator/clutch area. I see a short version and a long one...I'm almost 99.9 percent sure I need a short one but does anyone know for sure? Thanks
