I'm just trying to figure out why any individual would get three lawnmowers.... Tarkus, congrats on your new ride! >'Kat Sometimes things just multiply with no effort on my part, especially when I have dark quiet places to put them.

Check out the videos on this page. tredwearletters.com/Their product, tire paint pen, Zisner primer, it doesn't matter. Clean the surface.

I suggested a low fuel level as a possible source of difficulty because the higher the pump has to lift the fuel the less volume of fuel it can pump.

If valve adjustment doesn't help, is the fuel pump a vacuum operated one? They can fail to work well at low vacuum conditions, like during WOT operation, especially when the gas tank isn't nearly full.

I had a scooter with a similar body style. The secret to removing the body panels is to start with the panel under the tail light assembly and work your way forward.
It only took me three broken panel mounting tabs and hours and hours of frustration to discover that.

Maybe I will try painting "raised white letters" that tires had back in the 70s on my TMAX.

Do like I did at a my yard sale many years ago. Set both machines out, price them at what you think each is worth. Tell whoever shows interest when one scooter sells you will put the other one back into the garage and keep it.
It worked for the two 750cc Yamaha motorcycles, and again with the three lawnmowers I had.

HA! I understand. My chinoscoot disrupted my wife's life. In addition to my garage time and riding time cutting into her time with me, every time it didn't get me home I'd call my wife to hitch up the trailer, load the ramp and straps, and come get me and the scoot. Finally, one day she told me, "Here's money for a down payment. Buy yourself a real scooter." I came home with a new old stock 2009 TMAX. ....And never had to call for the trailer again! Well, not quite. I shredded the tire on my trailer and couldn't find a replacement at 6:00 Saturday evening. I know she loves me. She came to get the trailer.

I got my first scooter the last day of February. It's a TaoTao150 EVO-ATM. I have a 23 mile commute and I have already logged 1200 clicks. I changed the factory engine oil at 200 clicks, and gear oil at 300. At 800 clicks I installed one of these performance CDI's. The orange one. Today I finally got round to installing an 'upgraded' spark plug and ignition coil. My wife says I spend more time playing with the scooter than I do spending time with her. She was out in the yard today giving me an earful and I dropped the new plug and it rolled down into the stator assembly area. So then I took even longer to fix things because I had to loosen some of the other panels to retried the AWOL spark plug. I half expected no fire when I finally did button things back together. But it fired right over. I am not so convinced the performance CDI has made any great difference. The one or two mph differences could be just the presence of or lack there of tail/head wind. I don't understand the wife being jealous of the scooter though, lol. HA! I understand. My chinoscoot disrupted my wife's life. In addition to my garage time and riding time cutting into her time with me, every time it didn't get me home I'd call my wife to hitch up the trailer, load the ramp and straps, and come get me and the scoot. Buy a new belt and carry it with you. Run the old belt and see what happens. Storage conditions affect how fast the belts deteriorate in storage, if at all.

I have done some research and experiments on tire pressure. For a starting point research came up with this method. Maximum tire load capacity at maximum pressure Divided by the maximum expected gross weight on the tire Take the maximum load and divide it by the number you just got Take the maximum pressure and divide it by the second number you just got. My calculations: Max tire load 590 pounds Maximum pressure 60 PSI Maximum loaded trailer weight 150 pounds Here we go with the calculator 590 / 150 = 3. 60 / 3. = 15.25 PSI I wonder how low I can go and keep the tire beads seated. So, 15 PSI to start, with the trailer loaded at about 100 pounds gross weight to try it out on the road. The lift and drop it test was promising.

Those like neato as I love " classic not plastic " scoots . I would think a single rear wheel it would be speed limited as it would bounce around and may cause you to wreck . I have seen a few trailers made for scooters and many on Goldwings . The other week I saw a Radio Flyer wagon with the front wheels taken off as a trailer . You would need to have tail and brake lights to be legal . From my recent experience with my home made one wheel trailer -- a hitch that is stiff is most important. My first hitch made from laminated wood wasn't, and it had some scary moments for me. Once the trailer started swaying the only way to stop the sway was to come almost to a complete stop. My new hitch made of square steel tubing cured that. Now any initial swaying is self damping. Regarding bouncing -- my trailer has no suspension, just a rigidly mounted 4.80/4.00-8 trailer wheel and tire. It bounces. As long as I am going in a straight line I feel nothing, I only hear the cargo door rattle and bang. Going around corners with the trailer bouncing is disconcerting. It does yank the scooter from side to side, but after the first couple times the yanking becomes predictable and is controllable. Thirty to fifty MPH cross winds do make things really interesting. A big bounce happened on the Interstate at 70 MPH. The trailer started bouncing side to side from the wind shoving the trailer out of line and was self sustaining. I had to back off to 60 MPH to stop that one. Next winter it gets a suspension. I have some ideas . . . in the meantime I am going to get a rounded tread cross section eight inch wheelbarrow tire and see if it helps the bouncy bouncy.
