I brought the SYM RV200 in for some routine maintenance and while I was sitting around chatting with the good people at the dealership they just happened to mention that they bought leftover stock from another dealer. All 2013 leftovers. like my mothers meatloaf I can't resist leftovers. I bought the RV as a leftover and settled for what I could find. Matte Rat Black. Not my fave. Others love it me not so much. Anyway they know I've looked at the Downtown 300I many times over the last couple of years and had the chance to put a few hundred miles on one last year. We go back into the shop and sitting there is a crate-fresh 2013 DT 300 in silver! They know I love silver. Damn them! They told me they wanted it gone yesterday and made an offer I couldn't refuse. I've bought many, many scoots from them and they knew I'd bite at the right price. I bitched a little about it not being a step-thru but they countered with the "it fits you well" and it does. I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam and this bike does fit me well. It's also lite for a 300 and that's big with my weak legs. That said most would find this scooter cramped, its a small cockpit so to speak. I kept telling myself I didn't need another scooter as I wrote the check. So now one of my scooters is endangered. The Cali-Classic 125 or the RV200. That's going to be a hard choice. The Cali is a cool around town bike and the RV is, well it's an "urban assault scoot". Its bad assed period ! Fast and comfortable. Low with a ton of floor. Only problem is I've been doing more freeway two-up and in the long term I'm afraid I'd kill it. I just would have a hard time parting with that one. For now it a trio. Be Big, AMAC

Tarkus,
YOU are MY kind of RIDER! Like Novaraptor said: "It must suck to be you"... NOT! Enjoy 'em ALL!
I'm sort of familiar with the Kymco fuel-injected 300, but in the flat-floor version. The Downtown is a lot cooler, and if the frame style works for you, it will be neater... My old knees definitely do need a flat-floor these days...
Looks like your only problem is which one to sell... Oh, to have such problems... LOL!
Ride 'em all, and ride safe!

howdy and yup, I also started with the hd200 and soon found myself hundreds of miles from home and on mountains passes and of course weighing in at a svwelt 300 pounds It struggled to maintain 55 or so up the passes, so of course I had to upgrade to a 250, then a 500, then settled on the 350 as ideal for in town and ok on the freeway. I think you will love the 300---good on ya
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Do like I did at a my yard sale many years ago. Set both machines out, price them at what you think each is worth. Tell whoever shows interest when one scooter sells you will put the other one back into the garage and keep it.
It worked for the two 750cc Yamaha motorcycles, and again with the three lawnmowers I had.

I'm just trying to figure out why any individual would get three lawnmowers....
Tarkus, congrats on your new ride!

Lol Leo! One of the scoots really will have to go. A third one was not in my plan or really in the budget but the price was truly right. I think what will happen is usage will determine what stays and what goes. The RV 200 would have been perfect for me solo, but with the amount of two up that I am suddenly doing I'm afraid it'll beat the out of it. That said the RV has more "utility vehicle" in it without a top box then the DT300 does. With its flat floorboards and huge understates storage it was perfect for my grocery shopping. I really want to avoid a top box on the Downtown. That leaves the Cali-Classic. Truth be told with the flat floorboards the top box and the role bag I can use that for around town shopping etc. it really fits a different niche then the other two scooters, that's why I am leaning to keeping this one and selling the RV. The Cali is also very pleasing to my eye and a great ride. The RV 200 will also bring more money in resale. That will help justify buying the Kymco.Sure it will work itself out over the next few months, I know if I tried to keep all three there would be one that just wouldn't get used. Nonuse in my opinion is as bad as abuse! Be Big, AMAC

Don't look, Leo! Just don't even look! It'll only make you whimper over spilt milk--I mean, split whitewall paint.

Tarkus,
That Cali Classic is a KNOCKOUT! Just had to mention it! My kind of ride for sure... But the new Kymco has the performance!
Ya can't have TOO much money, or TOO many rides!
