I don't know where you are running into the brand snobbery, on both sides, but I haven't seen it in NE Ohio. One of the warmest welcomes I ever got from a group of riders was from the North Coast Ninety Niners, a social riding club of mostly Harley riders in Cleveland. www.meetup.com/neohbikers/ I showed up the first few rides on a 250cc Johnway china scoot and got lots of friendly attention. I blew their minds during the Curve Heaven ride. Yeah, the scoot worked to the max getting to the curve area but in the curves I found they weren't hard to keep up with at all. The low crash bars and foot pegs limit their lean angle. The best after ride comment was "I would easily leave him behind on the straightaways, but every time I looked back he was on my tail again as I left the next curve." Nice bunch and my TMAX lets me participate more fully in the group. I can keep up on the longer faster rides now.

This subject is fading into history regardless. The ICE has seen it's day and the future belongs to the fuel cell and electrical motors mounted in the wheel hubs. No, not in the wheel hubs. Too much unsprung weight, especially in the front.

Another two months of un-rideable weather and finally today was the day I got out for more than a cross town quick ride. I had changed materials on the scooter's trailer hitch and had put a different wheel on the trailer. I had it hooked up and loaded just waiting for a chance to test out how it towed. I took a couple rides with it and rode everything from township roads to Interstate highways. It is looking good for trips if real camping weather ever comes back. The way this year is looking so far that just may be somewhere around mid-June.
I went through a quarter tank of gas and came home chilled, but with a smile on my face.

Small, quiet muffler. You can only get small OR quiet, not both.

Didn't work.
Put your picture on line like photo bucket, picasa, or whatever. Post the link to the picture. Don't bother to zip it either.

This error can happen at a local dealer as well. I had a motorcycle a fed decades ago that I bought from a local dealer. I looked at the VIN after I had had it a few month and it didn't match the title VIN. I kept my mouth shut and plated it with the title I had. Kept my mouth shut when I sold it as well.
I suspect I could do it again today as long as I didn't have a loan on it and only bought liability insurance. I love Ohio for its BMV.

Doug: No need to apologize, we all thank you for keeping this place running! john: I normally call my friends on the east coast this time of year and laugh at them about their weather vs ours here in Vegas. This year, I'm not laughing, but concerned. I hope you and your's get through this winter OK! We get years like this every once in a while. It really hasn't been that bad around here. It is just the TV weather guys naming winter storms (sheesh!) trying to raise their ratings by crying "The sky is falling!".

Sounds more like a really loose valve adjustment or exhaust leak to me.

They are well built. A friend got rear ended while riding his and they just had to do a little body work on the tail lights so it could be ridden home halfway across the country however he was over a week in a coma, several months in the hospital and two years later still going through rehab and will never be able to ride again. The Atlantic of those years has the stereo, room for two full face helmets under the seat, cruise control, self canceling turn signals and a ECU that can be set to race mode for sanctioned track events. If yours has an Immobilizer get the keys copied now and never use the last or master key to run the bike. It can cost thousands to get past the system once you loose the last coded key as everything from the ignition switch to ecu, throttle body, dash and fuel pump needs to get the proper code from the key in order to start the bike. Enjoy responsibly and ride safe. I have a friend who had the same thing happen. Minimal damage to the scoot, major damage to him. several years later and still brain damage. He wears a helmet when he rides a Burgman with training wheels now.

The styling reminds me of the pressed steel frame motorcycles of the 1950s from eastern Europe, only nicer looking.

I clicked the link and read the description. They are for Presta valves. They will NOT fit the Schrader valves on our cars and scooters. You can find the ones that work on our Schrader valves at many stores with automotive parts and accessories. I found mine at Walmart.

I went through the same kind of selection process. Welcome to the Yamaha super scooter clan. I still have the same don't-want-to-get-off feeling from my TMAX 18 months and 12,000 miles later. I only have an 6 to 8 month riding season. Winter interferes with my riding. 300 pounds of me, about 100 pounds of camping equipment and supplies in a one wheel trailer behind me. I found out keeping with traffic in the fast lane during a Columbus Ohio rush hour I STILL have a little more oomph to go at + MPH. Enjoy the ride, try to keep the speed down. I still have trouble with that.

Price of that ticket, probably a few hundred pounds. Value of an anti-tailgating flamethrower, priceless! Maybe in Las Vegas, but to quote the article; "He was held on suspicion of possessing an object converted into a firearm, and was released on unconditional police bail without charge until May 6 pending further police investigation. Possession of a firearm carries a maximum prison sentence of five to seven years at Crown Court."
