Don't be Babying it around town. The Most important thing is to vary engine Load, example. going up hill on the gas is a nice Load, Coasting Down hill is No Load. That means do not be afraid to lay into that throttle for short periods of time. Pin it up hill for a couple seconds then back off to 50% then to 75% then to 40% then to 100% with a load on the engine. There isn't a a bunch of jagged edges and those sort of things in these engines and the finish on the cylinders is the modern Plateau hone, these will seat the rings in a very short period of time. if you Baby it it will grow up to be a Baby.. Have Fun

That Hose is a Vent for the Gear Box in the rear of the CVT. It goes to or attaches to nothing she just vents. You may want to look under the hood at the Vacuum Hoses to and around the carb to make sure they have no visible issues. Trying not to scare ya on the but the GY is notorious to come from the Factory with a tight valve lash. I adjust mine right out of the crate and it was tight (was under .002). the issue is if they start out to tight once the GY is broke in they don't get loose they get tighter and eventually once the motor is hot the exhaust valve will hang open slightly and the engine will die until she cools down and repeat. There are plenty of GY tutorials on this so there lots of help if ya need it Your all good

I see the Foyt shop next to us 290 when I drive to Austin. I didn't know if it was an actual race shop or something else. -I pity the guy that had to build the exhaust for those reverse flow heads on the cosworth v8.Yup Yup thats it, most of his old race cars are gone from the shop now, was so many to maintain. Larry Foyt is pretty much running the program as acting President. Larry was adopted, he was the son of AJ's sister. Probably the most intimidation one on one meeting Ive ever had in my life, you open your mouth and make sure No Stupid comes out. But that being said its always gunna be AJ's Way!!!

Here is the Foyt Indy, basically a Ford, AJ's father wad behind that program. If I remember correctly Foyt bought the rights from Ford in like 72 and ran the Foyt Indy V-8 till 78 and not to leave out his Fourth Indy 500 win in 77.
