To complete the problem of the automatic catch to unlock the seat,I found that there was no practical way of fixing the problem .To fix properly I would have to get a new complete unit and remove a lot of plastic to reinstall. My decision after a conversation with Ally , was to cut the cable and install a manual pull cable which seems to work very well . Thanks guys, this has been a interesting post.

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Boy ! You sure save me a lot of time,Ally !I found the grease nipple and at that size you need a magnifying glass to see it. Back of the CVT were the clue words . Now grease in the differential .I think I have seen those small grease guns and small tubes. And 89w in the tranny! For what it is worth Ally . I knew Mr Zerk , He lived in Kenosha ,had a farm of some kind.He use to come into the the United Tea store that I worked in and take all the lettuce produce etc and put in his Cadillac and haul it back to the farm to feed his turkeys and hogs. He was pretty ex centric and kind of strange. We all knew when he came to the store ,because the first thing he did was turn off the radio. Didn't like noise ! He made millions from that little Zerk fitting ! Oh yes I Jerry rigged a handle for the seat ,seems to work OK .I will improve on it later.

Ally - mine looks similar to the last picture your 150.Disc brake on the left side looking from rear.,chain on right next to disc brake.Has circular tubing welded to rear of main tubing and a piece of steel sticking out that the ball is bolted to. Your numbers 1 2 3 4 look like where the plates are bolted together . I still don't see any place to add or drain oil or grease .Ive looked hard and do not see any zerk fitting to add or drain nuts . Hope this information I give has helped . Still don't see place you call tranny or a place to drain or fill it. I think I am getting too old for all this ! Thanks

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Thanks Ally -I will follow you up on reinventing the pull cord for the seat.I had thought along those lines earlier. If you have any suggestions as exactly the best way to do it ,it would help me. There are no grease nipples anywhere on the differential. The emergency brake thing kind of has me confused. What happens when you pull or push on the little lever? Is this something that would be used often? Where would the brake fluid be added? And exactly how much as I had read some posts where the guys are talking about using needles and such to measure .I've used needles on sheep but not on scooters.I think mine says Dot 3 ,but I will check again. Thanks Ally, I will be back to you most likely with more questions after I have absorbed some of this info you have just given me. Also I will take a couple of pictures of ,would it be the last main shaft that the wheels are attached to ? Also what area would the Tranny drain and fill be in .I am asking this question as there is some difference between this trike and the two wheel trike .I had no problem finding the add and drain on the the two wheel trike but there is quite a bit of added material (chain and such) which doesn't seem familiar to me .There is a long plate with about 8 screws holding it to the motor and the kick starter sticks out of that plate Would I have to take this plate off to locate the drain and add opening. Right now I have removed the holder mechanism for the seat as I don't want to have it locked up on me and I cant get it open . I could use the existing release cable that is already there ,if I can find the front end and if it is long enough to be able to hold onto. Thanks again !

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Hi Ally-I have just got a Magnum Q6 3 wheeler with a manual that has little or no information that means anything. Hopefully you can help me. First I have found a small black box attached to the left handle bar ,to the right of the left brake handle. This box has a view glass in it and I am assuming it may be a brake fluid container although there is no information in the manual about brake fluid .If this scooter uses brake fluid ,where can I get information regarding what kind of fluid ,how much to use and where do I put it in.Cars I know, but this is new to me .At present the glass shows it is half full ,but does not show as even across the glass. The fluid shows a slight slant across the glass, also behind the box there is a small lever. Can you give me advice on this unit and servicing of same? Second question is this scoot has a differential gear.Would this be the same as what we use to call the cabbage head on a car>? If it is does ,will it need servicing ? I can't seem to find a place to drain or refill this part. Also would there be a transmission drain and refill like the two wheel scooters? Lastly ,and what is a real pain to me and I hope you may just have some knowledge on this problem.'This scoot has a seat opener that is operated by turning the ignition all the way to the left and supposedly the seat will pop up.I have contacted a number of so called techs and no one seems to know what to do. I have got suggestions such turn key to left and swat the seat. About three time since I got the scoot in the end of June Have I got the thing to work .Now id does not work at all.I have taken all the plastic and such off the rear and looked at the switch and when you snap the trigger it seem to open OK ,but when you try to turn the key CCW it doesn't do anything .The cable where it connects to the switch has a little sag to it ,but does not pull to release the lock bar. I have taken off the rubber protector around the lock mechanism ,but the lock unit seems to be connected from the rear ,and there is no place to get into the rear except ,from my view is to take all the whole from end plastic off, which I really don't want to do unless it is the last minute resort.I sure hope you have some suggestions to my problems . If there is no possible way of repairing the seat lock I guess I could just take off the lock, and leave the seat open. The one reason I would like to have a lock is that the battery is under the seat right at the rear end . The whole locking mechanism sure isn't very reliable. You have given me good answers in the past,I hope you may have a little knowledge for me this time Thanks Ally Verne

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]For what it is worth, I bought a3wheeler from a dealer ,and a few days later ,I was told they would try and find the specific trike,Well a week later ,I got into hassle with the sales manager ,him trying to blame me for all the mix up. To make a long story short ,I was finally put in contact with another sales person and the next day I had a email with five different scoots on and was told to pick the one I wanted .All were a little higher in price then the one I had originally ordered I picked one out Magnum Q6 .which was quite a bit more then the original trike,al I received it within 3 or 4 days . It came in good condition and most of the PDI had been done. At present I am finishing up the PDI . The moral of this story is that you never know who you are dealing with and it seems to be a crap shoot what you get .I bought a scoot from the same dealer before with no trouble, but this time there were problems because of misinformation ,but it all came out well in the end and I am very pleased with this 3 wheeler . I think when you have a problem with the dealer ,ask to talk to the head man and work out your problem with him .

Hi guys! I sure could use some advice on my new 3 wheeler . It is a50cc one wheel in front .From Ice bear .called Q 6 One of the problems is that to open the seat, you have to put your ignition key in a certain spot ,problem is that sometimes it works and most of the time not.Directions say move to counter clock spot and click.Doesn't work most of the time. My second problem is, I want to remove the the seat box ,to get at the motor and it does not seem to be removable. Any advice will be appreciated . Thanks i advance ! I want to thank all that gave me advice to get my scooter working . The advice and suggestions were all good ,it took this old man a few days to get the work done All I have to do now is bolt on the trunk and windshield ,,change the vac and gas lines and install one fender.Boy ,they are a @@###& to bolt on without help Tried my wife but no patience ! Will go at it again tomorrow.

[replyingto=triker]triker[/replyingto]Hi Roy ! Boy it has been a long day but ,good news is here. I took you advice and first I removed some plastic and metal parts from the rear .With that done ,I was able to see through a slot in the rear plate a small bit of cable and some fittings. I stuck a screw driver in the space and wiggled it around, there was a click and the seat opened .I know I will have to either tighten or loosen the cable .At which end ? And will I tighten or loosen ? Also I went a little further and removed the two bolts holding the hinge end of the lid ,and two more bolts ,one at each side about one third of the way from the back. With that dine the tub came loose . Boy! what a job. I sure would hate to do this operation on a regular basis Now all I have to do is replace vac and gas hose ,which is somewhat buried and I found the fuel filter ,away down on the right side and it too is kind of buried. The gas tank is up front somewhere inside the steering post area .Has a long gas line to the carb . All lines are the same color so It will be a experience making the change. Got the plug replaced .It too is kind of buried. I think the last thing I will be looking for is where is the differential gear drain and refill.Info on this type of requirement is vague .Show picts of three rear ends ,but no marking as to where the drain is and no mention of service (meaning fill or drain ) Well anyway Roy I want to thank you for your suggestions and advice. It made my job a lot easier . It gives a man a good feeling to know that there are people like you that I can get the help needed . In this case there are no one in Salem that will work on Chinese scooters .Their claim is they can't get parts! Anyway Roy, thanks again,if I can ever help Give me a call.

[replyingto=triker]triker[/replyingto]Hi Triker - Thanks for the advice.I will try to explain what I have here, but I am not too good on this particular problem. There are TWO spots at the ignition. ONE opens the key hole ,security I would guess. The other one is the key hole There is start at top next on left side is OFF and then below that wording ,there is ,then small arrow pointing down to left side, then there is the word OPEN and the word push.Below that wording is the word LOCK.I would send a picture but I don't know how to do that process. I am not too good on this computer! I just went out and tried again and still nothing. Also as I can't get the darned seat and bucket off the scoot as there are only two bolts on the front end and NO other bolts or such that can be removed.I have taken some of the rear trim off ,but again no bolts or such in that area. Boy I am really stuck with this one!! I appreciate you time triker .

[replyingto=triker]triker[/replyingto]Hey triker- So far I have followed the advice from the dealer. One said turn the key to the left and smack the seat. What I have tried is the following.Turned the key to many places counter clockwise as advised.Nothing worked. My neighbor came over and turned the key lightly turned the key and up popped the seat I have tried it dozens of times and only a couple of times has it opened. I have removed some of the plastic around the top rear ,but no help there
for the removal of the tub. There seem to be a lot of wires attached to the underside of the tub .I have only felt them like a cable attached on the right hand side.I need to get the tub out if possible so I can have access to change vac tubing and gas line. If the tub doesn't come out I don't want to waste a lot of time for nothing.I contacted Ice Bear and got a similar answer .Turn key to left and smack the seat. They did say that they get a lot of calls regarding this lock. Any other advice regarding either of my problems ,sure will be helpful. Getting back to the lock ,is this switch worked with electricity? The reason I asked is that I haven't put the battery in the scoot as yet.

[replyingto=geh3333]geh3333[/replyingto]Maybe you should learn how to type proper English and then others may be able to understand what you are saying. You sound like you have a pretty thin skin ,young fellow .As you grow up you will understand other people better .Don't take everything that others say to you personally .It will make life easier for you !
