[replyingto=taildrag]taildrag[/replyingto]I am your age and have the same problem .Go on your tube and there are instructions on how to do it. Face the rear, put your left foot on the peddle and put your left hand on the area, where ever you can. Kick forward with your right foot and pull the rear up ,if you can. Make sure that you have both sides of the kick stand on the ground before you start . It takes a few try's but it works. If you have someone with you they can stand on the right side and help balance the scoot until you get the knack . I am sure there are a number of ways to do it but this works for me. It's a getting old isn't it??? Attachments:

I built a lot of motorized model boats and then switched to regular type models .total about 30 and then gave them all away .I kept one for old times sake. Building boats is a great hobby if you have a lot of patience ! My new hobby is my scooter if the weather clears up enough to ride it!!!

I have lived in Canada ,Calif ,Wisconsin, Hawaii , Mexico and MC Allen Tex. All had good weather ! I ended up in Oregon ,one of the wettest in the country . The moral of the story is ,the grass is not always greener on the other side of the street !!!

Thanks for the reply . I have the gas line going to the filter then to the carb. I also have a black vac line running from BEHIND the gas line connection and running to the curved rubber ( large hose piece ) that i in front of the carb. .The problem I have with this line is the hookup at the gas tank. It is under the tank and behind the gas line connection .You can see it but the space is so confined that trying yo put a new line in that space ,in not possible without lifting the gas tank up to make a new connection . Now the vac line on the left side as I said is not connected at the top end and is just lying against the frame. I see no place for it to be connected to .I thought it might be a drain for the carb.but it is near the bottom of the motor. Not near the carb. crawdad

I have two vacuum lines on my new Chinese scooter that it is suggested should be replaced with American vacuum tubing.I have replaced most of theother lines except two that are in a difficult place to reach. One line goes from under the gas tank to the curved rubber tubing that is located in front of the carb. The line under the gas tank is the problem. The other line is located near the bottom of the motor on the left side and again in a place that is impossible to reach . Removing it is no problem but installing a new line would be very difficult. That line however is not connected to anything at the top end and sits along the side of the scoot frame My thought was to cut the vac line near the top connection under the gas tank and insert a small piece of metal tubing in it and attaching new line to that tube. I am concerned that this might restrict the air in the tubing too much. That tubing is 1/4 " in diameter .I would use the same procedure on the other line also. Any suggestions would be appreciated. crawdad

Hi There - I am from Salem OR -retired and trying to get back to doing the scooter thing. I am getting a lot of info from this Forum regarding owning a scooter and I want to thank Doug for his personal information . I am not aware of too many people with scooters in this state and and in my town we have 3 motorcycle stores of which two handle Honda's and Vespers and are do not have any interest in Chinese scooters . They claim that they can't get parts . Attachments:

Hey Shawn _ I thought I would put in my two cents as I live in Oregon also. I just recently registered my scoot and the DMV here is VERY fussy about the speed you can go on the flat and also they are touchy about the difference between 49 1/2 and 50 cc .Less then 35 seems to be the required speed. They first tagged mine as a motorcycle because the dealer I bought the scoot from had written 50cc on the bill of sale .I was told I would have to write a test and then go for instructions in Portland and then get my motorcycle attachment to my license and then bring the scoot to the DMV for them to inspect and make sure you can ride it. After much hassling and going to another DMV I finally convinced them that I had a moped ,not a motorcycle .I now have a MP plate and can just use my regular license .The 50 cc thing can be a problem.
