Hard to tell to comes out of a larger bunch of wires that are all taped together and look like they're heading towards the front end of the scooter

So i looked over the scooter real quick today and the first thing i found was this plug that i couldn't figure out where it's supposed to go any idea what this is for? A little tough to see but it's two wires green and white

So my buddy at work just bought a used 50cc taotao off another coworker. what i know about it is that the coworker bought it new 6ish months ago. Some time ago the scooter required the kick start to start it, and within the last week the headlight stopped working, before that the headlight would constantly dim, even just from using the brake. From other threads I'm thinking this is either a bad connection or an improper ground? Any ideas?

Well that's embarrassing you're absolutely right. Trying to put it on the wrong end. But either way I think it would be smart to replace the carb either way since I can't change out the jets. www.partsforscooters.com/125-150cc-GY6-Carburetor-169-49?sc=31&category=133066would this be sufficed or should I go for something a little better. I've found the keihin one mentioned above for around $70, I guess my question is is it $30 better than the one in my link? I don't mind spending the extra money if it's worth it. Thanks again guys. Edit: the bottom of that listing says type 1 carb what are the different types and does it matter?

Awesome exactly the information I was looking for as for the last pic is that piece supposed to be that hard to put on or is it just bc it's a cheap part that the rubber just isn't flexible anymore?

Alright guys so let me begin by saying this is my first venture into carburetors in general. After a few posts on here it was determined that my carb needed to be cleaned so armed with all of my YouTube knowledge I dove into it. Here's where the problems arise lol. Oh and it's a 150cc taotao powermax, 1 year old OK so first it appears there is no way to open up where the Jets are. I can see the screw threads but they don't have any heads After cleaning the parts I could get to I tried to put this piece back on (sorry don't know the names) and for the life of me cannot get it back on! So my question is would I be better off just ordering a new carb? And what would be the right one to get if so? Side note I plan on getting a performance exhaust and a uni air filter soon.

Alright so kind of a late update but: Turns out the small hose seen in the bottom left of the last pic was completely broken, so I replaced that but haven't really seen much improvement. But while looking around ive noticed that the majority of the hoses are deteriorating so I guess the best plan of action would be to replace them all. So that brings me to my question, there seems to be a few diff diameters for sale, is there a generic size that all 150cc gy6 are or do I need to take one out at measure it? Id like to order them asap so any input is appreciated.
Also I'm looking at the clearish hoses that parts for scooters sells, they seem to be better quality than the cheap rubber ones i currently have
Edit: the idle problem seems to be a little worse, just while on the stand it goes from 1k rpm, sometimes cutting out, to jumping up close to 4k and the wheel spinning, if I grab the rear brake the rpm drop back down, I plan on cleaning the carb but figure might as well get the new tubes as well

How do you know what size uni filter to use? And did you have to adjust the carb after?

Yea I mean I expected problems for the price you could easily drop 3k on a scoot and prob not worry much about it but I also wanted a project to work on, have you upgraded anything in it? All I've done so far is get a performance ignition coil and performance cdi, but turns out it's the wrong cdi, I bought a dc and I'm pretty sure the scooter is ac Other than that id like to upgrade the belt and paint the whole thing A lot of people have this scooter in florida so I want mine to be a little different, I see a VIP atleast once a day driving around Doubt you see any though haha, I'm from nj, I probably see more scooters in one day down here then I saw in nj for the 23 years I lived there

Not sure about yours, but I have that exact same scoot and my odometer is in kilometers not miles
I had the same problem with the exhaust, it broke off of its brackets, and one of the bolts actually broke off inside the threads so that was a pain, but with how hard i ride it it's doing very well.

Alright guys so I''ll pick up that airbox tape after the weekend and see if that does anything and check back in. I'm really hoping it's not a carb issue simply because I have no experience working on engines in general, although it is probably time that I learn. I have some mechanical experience, I'm actually a rickshaw mechanic so I tend to have to fix things that don't necessarily have a specific right way to do it, so I'm always up for a challenge.
I have watched some videos of removing and cleaning carbs, I'm just terrified of getting that deep into a project for the first time lol , if it comes down to that then so be it.

I haven't checked that yet, here is a pic of the hose that is cracked, you can see where I tried to fix the crack with epoxy a few months ago So you're saying it's probably not that?

Well the problem is it's not attached to the air box (?) by a clamp or anything it's like attached right to it, and that's where the crack is, wouldn't I have to replace the whole thing.
And for the apricot thing, i kind of just made it up I have large stretched ears and people used to call me marky africa (my name is mark) and so I just made up something that sounded similar

Thanks! I think that is most likely the issue where the hose attaches is cracked pretty good So then how should I go about fixing that? Some sort of epoxy or ?
