well.. we bypassed the wiring by firing the starter directly (clamping negative jump starter to an engine bolt to ground) and positive on the starter directly and no difference. wanted to bypass the wiring to see if that was the issue. its the same w/ 3 different starters... im not sure what a stroker crank is.... put the standard 50mm big bore kit.. did not replace the crankshaft.. seems like im going to need to do something to decrease the compression.. just curious why it acted up all of a sudden... Bypassing things doesn't change anything. It is a known fact that after you install a big bore kit you must upgrade the starter wires or this will happen. The thinner wires fry up from trying to push the bigger motor, the wires were NOT designed with the big bore kit in mind, so keep that in mind. Get 10 gauge wires, some terminals, replace the wires, see the difference immediately.

They also have thicker head gaskets, much safer and won't blow out from higher compression like trying to stack those silly paper gaskets will.
Also try to change the wires that go from the battery to the solenoid then to the starter motor with 10 gauge wire, and maybe a fresh battery with higher amperage but not necessary. 10 gauge wire should make that starter motor turn a lot harder than with stock wiring.

So the mounting arm thing that connects to the frame and to the top of the engine is too wide for the 4 stroke engine. Also I tried a 4 stroke mounting arm with the curve in it for the carb but it was too short to connect to the frame. Is there a nice mounting arm I could buy that would solve this problem by mounting to the frame like a 2 stroke but mounting to the engine like a 4 stroke?

The scooter dealership near my house sells those for $30, they are pretty good but I still switch out the weights and experiment since the different ramp angles give you different results from the stock variators you may find use of heavier or lighter weights to be better depending on your riding style and conditions like hills and stuff.
For me I found use of 7.5g weights over the 8g they came with to be better, gets me up hills a little faster and takes off faster, plus the ramp angles make it so I can still achieve around 55mph with my 50mmBBK.

You can drive it hooked up like that, but it would probably just be easier to hook it up to the wire harnesses. The only thing that is not hooked up is the charging/lighting wiring to the regulator. I completely removed my wire harness. I have each wire run separately. I used 16ga wire on everything, which is better quality. Plus, if something goes wrong, I know exactly where every wire is going, and I have all the connections in places that are easy to get to. Yeah it would be easier, but I have no harness for it so I will be making my own. I will be putting an engine in an old kymco super9 2 stroke that has been sitting outside someone's house for years and years. The only good things on it are the front wheel and the frame.

Cool, is it possible to run in this configuration as well when I have it in the frame for road testing?

Does it have any lines? It should always be installed with the tdc markings showing tdc and you should always make sure tdc is correct and matches with the fywheel markings too.

Wait what? So I really don't need the pickup hooked up? The diagram hows no pickup, but I don't see how the spark timing could work without it, am I misunderstanding something here?

This is a nice wiring diagram for bench testing an engine made by DMartin Don't need the pickup coil wired up?

May not be the exact answer your looking for This set-up is more economical as I can use for both Bench test and Scoot as upgrade. This is a Very Nice set-up made for me by DMartin. My OE Sunny Wiring Harness is pure junk. Discount the Stator upgrade for your app Total Plug-N-Play Well I have all the connectors and everything so I was planning to just make my own harness for the scooter I'm working on. It's a kymco super9 I am working on removing the 2 stroke and installing a 4 stroke.

So I want to test a few engines I may put into a frame I have before doing the entire install and everything. What is the bare minimum to get an engine to run on stand without frame? Just want to start up and idle.
I am guessing I need a CDI and to wire up a little bit of a harness that will connect it to the stator and coil. I will also need a coil and gas source (I have a macguyvered tank out of a bottle), a solenoid and a battery and a button that will send 12v power to the solenoid via the battery and a small gauge wire and 10 gauge wires for the starter/solenoid>battery. Is that all enough?

I just got a super9 with the same front brake (super brake as they like to call it). I simply ziptied the hose out of the way haha, don't even use the brackets.

Go back and reinstall the flywheel properly. I use a $20 electric emergency impact wrench from harbor freight and kobalt impact sockets from lowes, works great for everything scooter. If your flywheel fan came in contact with the shroud your flywheel must not be tightened down all the way or the fan. Use some loctite for installation, I use red on things like the flywheel since you do not plan to service it often.

Put on a sweet set of midnight blue rims and now when braking on front it wobbles/pulsates. Any advice is appreciated The shocks are not straight or the disc is warped.
