Hello i have replaced my piston in my 170cc along with heads. My question is about my timing and camshaft. Now i have aligned the T up but ob the camshaft is it supposed to be put in a certain way or does it matter.what i mean by a certain way is does it need to be aligned or just slap it in. And if it does need to be alinged up my cam shaft gear has 4 holes not three would love if someone could help with this question

Does it have any lines? It should always be installed with the tdc markings showing tdc and you should always make sure tdc is correct and matches with the fywheel markings too.

I just did the same and the T is not correct. it's more like the second line under it. And if you have a one piece rocker assembly like me, it has two holes on one side and two on the other with lines underneath. and mine had 2 letters (can't remember what they were) but those face up Parallel to the head as the cam sprocket bolts on to the side unless you did a modified head with a generic type camshaft and rocker assembly.
You can check out my long thread "help! valve issues which covered putting on a new head and piston.
