Ooo, just thought--ricardo, can he fit a car battery in there, too? Then he can REALLY amp up the light show! Woohoo!! Or if you don't want THAT many lights, you can always get horny instead-- >'Kat There's no such thing as too many horns.

I took the wrecked scooter down into pieces, I got the chassis exposed, it is bend on the corners where the floor meets the triple tree and handlebar, not sure if it is possible to bend it back into position? This is going to turn into a naked scooter, it doesn't matter if the chassis has to be modified a bit, I'm thinking on mounting a motorcycle gas tank as well as a motorcycle seat, but I'm open to ideas on what to do with this wreck, the only thing I have to keep without modifications are the tube where the VIN number is and the engine number, the engine is intact, it didn't take damage, after charging the battery it fired up right away. The handlebar is toast, it is twisted beyond repair, not sure if a motorcycle handlebar would fit, ape hangers perhaps? hehehe. Give some ideas.

On the technical section of the forum there are lots of information on how to tune a CVK carb, it is easy if you are not afraid of wrenching a bit; the vacuum leak test is very easy, you just need a can of carb cleaner and spray the thing until you find a leak or not. itistheride.boards.net/board/34/fuel-air-carb-all-sizes

I know what you mean with the throttle bogging at WOT, that's a carb issue, too much fuel or too much air, since you said it banged at WOT going uphill, I suspect too much fuel is being delivered (running rich). Check if your air filter is clean, and try adjusting the A/F screw, also, check for vacuum leaks, you can check for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner on the hoses and joints of the carb with the scooter idling, if you notice a change on rpms at some point, then you found the vacuum leak.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I like the idea of having two batteries. It's just finding a mounting spot for the second one. The scoot on your avatar is the same body style as mine, you can fit two batteries under the floor without issues, you just have to cut the battery compartment and fabricate a bracket to hold both batteries.

You can cut the welding points on he frame and weld it back again when you reach Florida, it's easier to carry a bunch of tubes than a frame. Welding points on Chinese scooter frames are rubbish anyway, it is a good opportunity to do a good welding job.

trickle charge should do the trick, they can last years on trickle charge, just like if they where being used on the scoot daily; or you can daisy chain the spare battery and add electrinic extras like fog lights, phone charger, radio, and the likes and not worry about running out of juice.

I tested this out on my TaoTao Powermax 150 last night, and this "trick" worked for me. Here are my observations from the test. Typically, at WOT my chinometer tops out at 100 with 7000RPMs. That's exactly what I tuned my CVT for to avoid the 8000RPMs. This was how she was running last night. So on a straight and level road I maxed her out. Once I was at that limit I eased off the throttle a 1/4ish for a moment then twisted back to WOT. To my surprise the chinometer climbed to 110 and RPMs reached 8000. Once I saw it worked I slowed down, but I was very surprised. My scooter has never gone that fast. I don't think I will be doing that very often. I drive for reliability not speed. Plus the road I drive to work has a speed limit of 45. I don't want to be that guy pulled over for speeding on a scooter. But it was fun to push her limits. If I ever get a ticket for speeding on a scooter, I would make a T-Shirt with the ticket stamped, lol.
