Why just a frame? Where ever you decide to settle, there are bound to be a bunch of scooters listed on Craigslist, that would have wheels, brakes, suspension, etc, etc. Non running units should be cheap.

Might only have space to take the engine but I'm thinking on breaking it down to as flat as possible boxing it up and strapping it to my roof

You can cut the welding points on he frame and weld it back again when you reach Florida, it's easier to carry a bunch of tubes than a frame. Welding points on Chinese scooter frames are rubbish anyway, it is a good opportunity to do a good welding job.

U- Haul is an option

There is also the PODs and UPack solution too. You do have to shop for specials and may find adjusting your moving schedule a few days can make a big difference in the cost. Typically, unless your stuff is ready to be donated to Goodwill but there is a good chance that they will refuse it, its worth the $1,500 for the small box truck to move it yourself.

U- Haul is an option A scooter is a lot more than just a motor and frame. Do you really want to buy a piece of junk and be faced with sorting out wiring faults and fuel delivery faults, and ignition faults, and brake/throttle control faults on some random piece you would buy down there? U-Haul would charge a mint to rent a trailer one way. Bite the bullet and buy a Harbor Freight trailer kit for $300 www.harborfreight.com/1195-lb-capacity-48-inch-x-96-inch-heavy-duty-foldable-utility-trailer-with-12-inch-wheels-90154.html a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood and a few carriage bolts. Haul the whole scooter down and sell the trailer when you get to Florida. You will come out money ahead. Don't think you can't tow with a small car. My friend tows a trailer with his Burgman 400 on it between NE Ohio and central Florida with a several year old Prius, and I have towed similar and larger loads with small four cylinder cars for (mumble) decades. Whatever you decide, good fortune to you.

Accualy, U-haul has a reasonable price.... A one way trip (as long as you have a Credit/Debit card) is possibly the most practicle choice in this case..... I Maybe Very Wrong Though......
A box truck rental is around 30-50 dollars per day.......... Load everything you own!!!! Make sure to fill the gas tank and your deposit is refunded........ Seems reasonable to me.
I did NOT mean to start some sort of hostile debate about moving expenses.....
I must say, dismantiling a scooter for a road trip, then leaving behind all the importaint bits just doesn't seem like the best choice availible. It's possible to take the entire unit.... A rental truck maybe a better idea.
Remember, This is the same user that implied his "girl friend" killed the scooter for riding it...........
I am NOT trying to be mean.... Just my Opinion--You know, what the OP asked for......
For some reason I get a strong Troll Vibe from Mr. Jamo---- Again, JMHO. Mr. Jam could drive the Box truck, His girlfriend could drive the car...... Assuming she knowes what buttons to push.....
My apology in advance to the moderation staff... Please edit as needed.

Okay so I have researched multiple moving companies and all being close to a grand or over doesn't sit well with me as far as the scooter breaking it down and taking every piece with me except broken plastics from previous owner who had ditched it at mechanics as far as girlfriend draining battery she did she left light switch and kill switch on then tried starting it up about 20 times between her and her friend is what she said now as far as trolling I don't have time to waste over childish crap so no good thing it was only your opinion though.... ?

Moving companies or truck/van rentals that you can drive yourself?
You may find it will cost you $3,000 or more to replace your stuff not including the repairs to the dissasembled scooter so do give consideration to what it will cost to replace everything instead of taking it with you. Most will find their stuff worth far more than the cost of van rental. Now if your talking about hireing movers to load all your stuff and deliver it for you then yes that can become cost prohibitive.
