First clue was when a friend told me, "HEY! The back of your scooter looks like it was in an accident! Wheel is tilted and pushed to the side!": Removed the seat and looked into the engine compartment. Engine was sitting there all slanted, with the head 'pushed" to the left several inches! Turns out the engine hanger is broken. The hanger is the single engine mount (also called the swing arm). It goes from right frame to left ---- with a part that then dips down under the carb, forming a tube from the left side of the crankcase where a cast "ear" is, to the right side where another "ear" is. The engine mounting bolt goes thru the hole in the left ear, then thru the tube part of the engine hanger, then thru the hole in the right ear. The "tube" part of the hanger is welded to the upper part. When i flew over a bump in the road (going airborne) I apparently broke the weld along about 1/3 of the tube. This allowed the hanger tube to tilt, making the engine sit off to the side and on a slant! New hanger on order. That looks dangerous, glad you noticed it before it collapsed!

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I'll be sure to let my mech know about the idle weirdness next spring. Like ricardo said, I'm sure they'll know what to do, but at least I'll be able to offer your suggestions and thus not seem like a total non-mech. Of course, that impression will evaporate when I ask them what the battery is.... I still would like to know before doing, will it be ok to continue to start and idle Peej every couple weeks? Or should I now just leave him on the Tender 'til spring? Or keep him off the Tender and off the idling? I am of course hoping that come spring I'll be able to still drive him to ScooterWorld, rather than pay for them to pick him up. >'Kat Leave it on the tender and turn it on for a few minutes every two weeks like you have been doing, but instead of just idling, I would raise the rear wheel and give it a good twist to the throttle, since your scoot is fuel injected, that will help keep the injection needle clean.

Did some "drifter's stitching" on the plastic body panels, works a lot better than screws and doesn't brake as easily

7 years!!! That's a record for a battery to last, I believe it is time for a new battery.

Installed xenon lights on the front and rear lights, also installed an additional led light that points to the road right in front of the front tire, it should make easier to read the road at night.

The fuel injector might be dirty, the fuel system is the first to suffer from troubles when a vehicle sits for a long time, if that is the problem, your mechanic wont have problems cleaning it, it is an easy task. About the battery, how old is it?

Did that, ricardo. I called yest morn, they called back "Can you come in an hour?" He had three X-rays done of my right, they showed it's fine. So I didn't screw the screw walking so far in the hospital. He dismissed the itching, said there's zero rash so it's just healing. Use hydrocortisone and take a benadryl if the itching drives me crazy. (I know, short trip) The hurting, he said "You had surgery not long ago. It's still healing." Ditto with the tight band that my pinky toe feels like is squeezing it. He said nerves are the last things to heal, that's what's causing the various itchies and hurts and the squeezing band. I think he was most concerned about the swelling. I asked why the middle three hurt when he didn't do anything there, he said that's because it's still swollen. Then he looked at my foot again and pulled out a pad and wrote instructions for me. I am now to soak my feet, ice 5 min, warm 15-20, ice 5. And I got compression socks to wear. He also has delayed my return to work for two weeks , unless they'll allow me to sit half the time. I called the HR lady, I asked her to plead with them, PLEASE don't make me stay home any longer! She's not optimistic 'cause previous requests for sitting went unapproved, but she was going to try again for me. >'Kat I hear you, I can't wait to get back to work, the first days at home where great, I did a lot of things that didn't have time to do before, but now I'm out of stuff to do, I've watched every movie and show worth watching, did a lot of wrenching on my Land Rover and the scooters, go to the gym almost every day, but can't think of anything else to do, lol, without transportation I can't go out anywhere to kill time (I live in the woods in a small town). After this experience, I think I will never retire, I would go crazy being at home everyday!

You should install a big bullbar on your bikes, something similar to the roo bars that Australian trucks use, seems like you will hit another one eventually.

Swollen and pain can be a sign of an infection, you don't want that, better ask your Doc to take a look and check everything is ok.
