I agree.... If you are getting spark, and the piston moved when you rotated the variator, electric and seizure problems can be eliminated. Sounds like the kick starting teeth somehow became misaligned. Remove the kick start to simplify the mechanics. This might be a stupid question, but how do you know the piston moved? Sorry I'm still learning If the variator moves, the piston does as well, it is directly attached to the piston rod.

Remove the kick starter to discard that as the failure, it can run fine without it, if that is not the issue, just put it back on, it is probably out of place, that's why it is stuck.

This is a tough one, I'll have to go with David, MacGyver was a pacifist, I guess that rests some points on it's favor.

Remove the sparkplug from the engine, put it in the coil, then put the sparkplug electrode right next to the frame or engine head, not touching, but almost; crank the engine, you should see a spark.

Have you checked the sparkplug and/or the coil? The sparkplug boot tends to make bad contact with the plug, I've had this issue several times.

well..... just put the NGK Iridium plug in and fired it up im pleased cranked easier and came back to idle smoother
im pondering putting on this Powerlink belt how hard is it do I really have to get a spanner or use an impact? is there an easier way? You can replace it without tools, but it is far from being easy, you have to hand press the clutch to allow the belt to be as far in the clutch as possible, then play with the variator to slide the belt in. I have done this on the side of the road after a belt shredded, but I don't recommend it if you can source the tools to make it properly.

We riders have superpowers that cagers don't, like predicting stupid behavior and constant focus on a single task.
