How is the fuse at the battery ? Actually that shouldn't effect the headlights . are you sure the bulbs didn't blow when the other rectifier went out ? all the fuses are fine...i suspect it is the wiring order in one of the plugs. If I switch the top 2 wires 1- red and one red/white the light works but the battery doesnt charge.the other way the battery charges but the headlight doesnt work. I assumed that the plug with the 3 yellow wires run the lights as if I disconnect that plug the lights wont work. so I am at a loss. I have limited electrical knowledge and this has me stumped.

lets see what the stator plug looks like are you referring to the connectors for the rectifier?

are you speaking of the connectors coming off of the rectifier?

I have a rectifier issue and need some help. I have a lithium battery on the scooter and it went dead. I was told that I had a rectifier issue and bought a new one which I thought was the right one. It charges the battery and the output is where it is supposed to be. My problem is now that the headlight doesn't work. I am enclosing some pics as I when it comes to electrical, my skills are minimal I have a 6 pin OEM (the bad one) rectifier with the following wire configuration And the new one with this wiring Both are six pin with 2 separate connectors(2 vertical prongs and one horz) with one connector with 3 yellow wires, which is what runs the headlight and the other for charging the battery and whatever else. I hooked up the new one and there is a considerable difference in the voltage output but the headlight doesn't work. I assumed that the 3 white wires on the new one where the same as the three yellow which handle the head light on the old one, but sigh, it doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. totally stuck. I searched high and low to find the right 6 pin configuration (2 connectors with 3 wires each) and thought I bought the right one. Doesn't seem to be the case. The only photo I could find with the exact wiring setup was listed as a 11pole 6 pin but I hardly think my scoot came oem as 11 pole and I haven't taken it apart at this point to verify. And it is only available on ebay and I have issues with using paypal (hate them) so this is not a purchase option for me. Thanks in advance for your help

So in my quest to find the possible reasons for belt breakage on my new scooter, I came across and few pages that discuss belt break in. I'm just posting this to let others know, which I didn't know was that there is a break-in period of about 50mi. so that the belts sets in properly.
I haven't been pushing to the limits but I definitely haven't been shy on making her go either. And I'm a big guy 240lbs. so I consider this to "be under load" as they explain it and with the new belt in place, I'll take it a little easier in the beginning...
anyone have comments? I read most of this as it relates to gates belts and their recommendations.
I'm hoping to prevent a repeat performance and not have to push it home... LOL
As a side note when changing out the belt I installed Dr. Pulley 11gram weights in the variator as from what I read, offer better performance. My question is how to know what the right weight is...and adjust accordingly. I have a 170cc engine. Maybe this question should be on a new thread?

Thanks again... I actually saw pcc motor logo on the pic you posted of the air filter and they have the filter... Do you know are these cleanable or should I just swap out for new when dirty? They are $11.00 so not a big expense to change them out.

Thanks for taking the time... my airbox is the same with the same filter. I'll pop it open tonite after work... also do you happen to know where to find a replacement filter? I've been to a lot of online scooter parts and can only seem to find the round ones that attach to the carb.

Thanks for the replies! The scooter only has 50 miles on it... brand new! It had a gates belt on it, so I'm stumped. I did notice when I took off the cover on the back of the cover there is a small plate which is held on by 4 screws and then tabs from the plate fold over the screws. One of those tabs was sticking up slightly and I'm thinking that maybe that belt was running over that and frayed the belt but no clue... I did manage to clean everything out, put in now rollers (I wanted to anyway), a new Bando belt and started it up without the cover and as far as I can see everything is functioning as it should.(rising and falling with rpms). I'll put some miles on it, pull the cover and see If I can see any wear.
One question I still have is that does the belt actually shred from breaking and flopping around in there or is it literally disintegrating? it might give me a clue to the problem if there is one.

I've searched inside and out of the airbox and can not find anywhere the it will attach to. My thought was the airbox but it doesn't seem so or can I see where it would go
I bought a dongfang from powerrideoutlet.com... it's advertised as 200cc but in actuality it's 170cc... its a zippy little critter...love it so far.

I've looked through other post but have not been able to find the info I'm looking for.
I have a new 170cc gy6 scooter and out of the box so to speak, I installed an EFI system before putting it on the road.
My issue is that upon PDI, I took off the CVT cover to replace the belt with a bando as I read that belts from manufacturer are normally inferior and didn't want to deal with a broken belt. Upon inspection, it had a gates belt on it so I thought I was good to go and didn't bother to change it.
After just 50 miles on the scooter and going about 45mph, the belt broke and shredded.
Luckily I have the Bando belt to replace it with but I'm wondering why it broke after only 50 miles. I don't want a repeat performance as it is not FUN to push it home.
Ive taken it apart, cleaned out all of the debris and am getting ready to put on a new belt (well as soon as I can get the variator nut off that is). waiting on a friend with an air impact wrench as my cordless won't take it off.
One thing to note that is on the clutch end the pads seem smooth, which I've read should not be...
The scooter runs great otherwise...
Just trying to figure out why it broke so soon and what may have caused it and what to look for.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Just purchased a new 200cc GY6 scoot and am looking forward to diving in to the world of Chinese scooters. This and other forums have been great in my education on what to expect, what to replace, how to repair and am looking forward to many years of fun!
Already went nuts and bought a lot of replacement parts, upgrades and even a EFI. And cause I'm concerned about night time visibility, even bought a set of LED pods to light it up...
I'm 57 and it's like getting a new toy for Christmas!
It will be here Monday, 10-20-14 and can't wait to rip it apart and put it back together... For safety reasons and just because I'm the type that has to know how it's put together... LOL
Would be great to find other people with scoots in the area to connect with.
Thanks for taking a look... Richard
Also, I am a web designer and since this scooter will be a big part of my life (my main mode of transportation) I just registered mychinesescooter.info and am going to create a directory style site where people can find links and info relating to every about chinese scooters (like this valuable site) and if anyone wants to give input of what they would like to see, please send it to me on here... I'll also be posting about my experiences with the scooter (blog style).
