I will put the stock carb back on and wait for the BBK, you're right, it is a waste of time to tune the new carb without the BBK and then tune it again for the BBK. I have no patience, I had to try it! I'm like that too when i get a new toy.

If you're gonna upgrade to a BBK, i would keep the new carb for that kit. Would be a wait of time and effort to slap it on your stock engine only to take it out to put it on your pimped up new one.
Just my 2cents.

A 125 main jet might be a bit big it your engine is stock. I would pull the spakplug out to see if its the color. Ideal would be coffee/chocolate brown.

What size is it? Usually, you find those carbs on 50cc 4t scoot, not on 125/150cc.

Hi, its been a while since i posted here, its been a pretty busy winter and spring for me with work and my scooter. I.m almost done with my build, just got a few loose ends to finish so here it is. Im sorry if its a link to another forum, i'm just to lazy to repost 4 pages of picture heavy stuff. Enjoy. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/11153/guts-looks-build

i also have this problem too. i think the best way to deal with it is to use a ram air intake of some kind into the transmission case. I was thinking an old fashioned vacuum cleaner attachment, the T shaped sort used for stairs and upholstery, should work as a perfect ram scoop into the CVT box. The ones that are 6" across or less shouldn't be too hard to fit without being noticeable, and even if it is noticed, it's ghetto fabulous!

If I could find the parts and had the tools and time I would try but I probably wouldn't even know how to tell what is broken and if I fixed it. If it is a quick little thing I wonder why the guy says it will cost $700-$1000 to fix. Do i smell a rip off here?

Just wondering if anyone has any idea of what a good asking price would be for it as is. Everything else works just fine. It "just" needs a new transmission so maybe it is worth something to someone. I want to try and salvage as much as I can from this horrible situation. Salvage the bike by changing the transmission yourself.
Take a stroll to the tech Library and find out how it's a "not so complicated" job to do.

I did a 3 day 1000km road trip and a 500km 1 day trip this summer. Took tools with me, but never needed them.
I was riding on a 150cc all stock gy6 engine with the carb set up on the rich side. The engine drank tank after tank of fuel at WOT running, no heat issues, no rattle, no nothing. I did change the oil 1/2 way on the long trip. But then, i always dump the oil every 500km.
No matter what type of engine/scooter you got, going on long trips always involves a bit of preparation.
So get the proper "just in case" kit and just follow them handle bars wherever they take you.

Here is my first experiment with your neet trick.
I had a pipe witch was way too loud from my previous gutting, so I went out and bought some isolation and here is what I did:
Sorry for the blurry pictures.
