I order just about all my parts from Scrappy's..... They are fast, and if there is a problem, they take care of it.

Oh thought it was stock... anyhow that would make for a neat mod. And it's different... I get tired of everyone swapping LS engines into everything. LS swap this, and LS swap that.... Sure, the LS is a great motor, but it's become run of the mill.
On my big blazer, I'd much rather have a Cummin s swap. I even found a guy that will even do it for about 5k. Little 12v turbo... And it would make a lot of sense for that truck. It is currently running a 5.7 TBI chevy. Another great engine, just not a power horse but rock solid, proven, dependable, and parts are cheap.

15k miles is amazing....
I actually really, really like the Chinese bikes but, yes the big names have the build quality.... but for bang for the buck? Chinese is good value for money.
You will NEVER have problems with the Yammy, Honda, or Piggie.... And the plastics, just fit on those bikes.... But the Chinese scooters have the same fun factor, for alot less money, but you *MIGHT* have to do a few things depending on who you bought it from. So what... it's not hard, and you get to know your bike. Some of are even twisted enough in the head to consider working on our bikes fun.

There should be a rule about Itallian bikes..... They should all be red!.... Kinda of like old Porsche's.... Red... only red... and old Lambo's..... Red, only Red..... Ford GT's should only be Blue with a white stripes... same with Shelby Cobra's and Elinors should only be green.... Mustang Fast backs and verts should only be red.... LOL

Well, guys, I've sold this bike.... I wish I would of taken more pictures and video of this bike, but it went to a good buddy. Too bad he hasn't been so gentle with the paint. The reason I sold it? I bought a 1500 Goldwing.... bigger canvas to paint on... . I paid 1500 bucks for it, and I'm happy. That huge flat six is soooooo smooth.... My biggest complaint about the bike is it has the tall seat, so it makes getting on and off the bike a bit of a challenge. Goldwings actually had two seat options. It's a inch taller then most.

the shock looks good. We pulled the engine so I could inspect the frame. I didn't see anything. The bushings are bad, but not that bad... deformed but not falling apart. I am wondering if the tire might of separated as well. I am going to give the frame another good going over. Check, check and re-check..... We have already agreed, that if it's the frame.... then the scoot is done. Not gonna have it welded, etc.... We will just get rid of it. Sell the motor, wheels, and plastics. The motor burns just a touch of oil, but it runs like a Swiss watch.
My buddy already bought a nice replacement anyway.... a 250cc nighthawk, for his girl to learn on. I've got to go thru the turn signals, put some tires on it, and do the brakes. Runs and drives very nice (other then having absolutely no front brakes, and I mean no front brakes) If I was a smaller dude, I'd ride the heck out of it. (it's just too small for me; especially because I'm used to my goldwing).
He got a sweet, sweet deal.... we actually traded a really ratty sport bike for it and we are getting a rack changed in a maxima. The bike we traded was a lean sale from our tow yard, soooooo, we really are not out anything.

I ordered a whole new set of bushings and a new cross bar for it. Engine's out of the scooter, so, they will probably go in sometime this week.
The scooter is pretty old, it's like a 2005.

I didn't see that it ran for a day on the new plug..... (silly me for skimming)
Ok... I'd pull the head and go with the thicker head gasket like lain was saying (easier then pulling the whole cylinder at this point)... BTW, did you change out the CDI for a racing one? Sometimes they have two much advance and make them very hard to start. Totally agree with upgrading the starter and solenoid wiring. And after running with the stock wire, it would start to break down and act like a resistor, making it harder and harder to start. You are not doing the starter any favors either.
The resistor plug wouldn't make it harder to start in that way (although the spark might not be hot enough). If it was messing with the timing, it would retard it, not advance it.

Take scooter off the center stand and see if you have spark... If you don't, you have a short or bad ground somewhere. The popping tho, is running rich on decel. usually that's either not enough back pressure in the exhaust, or the decel valve not working or leaking vacuum.

Are you sure you are using the correct plug? The plug may be longer and the piston is hitting it. Try putting the old plug back in.
You may be running two much compression, but I'd be sure to check that plug first, because if it lights off, it will put a hole in that piston or bend something, if it's the wrong plug.

I'm thinking Coil on this one.

Ladies and Gents, I think there is two problems. his coil or CDI is bad.... and when running at WOT, the vacuum pet cock is closing (if if pump equipped, the pump quits pumping)
On many of these scooters, when you run wide open, the pump or petcock (depending on where your tank is) will quit and it will act like it's out of fuel. It gets worse if the belt is old or the valves are out of adjustment, they will act up more. It's a balancing act.
If the coil is bad, it will have ok spark when cold, but then as it warms up, the spark can get weaker. The higher the revs, the more juice the plug will require to fire. Remember at 3000 rpm, which is just above idle, the plug fires 50 times a second or 100 times a second at 6000rpm. Once on the compression stoke, advanced timing will fire just before power stroke and once just before the exhaust stroke is completed. This puts tons of stress on the coil and CDI. CDI's typically act up when warm and at random when it feels like it. They are cheap enough, I'd change both.
As for the Vacuum problem, it happens when you are going down the road happily, at full throttle, then all of the sudden, the scoot just dies.... the way to tell, is to immediately close the throttle for about 5 seconds while it's slowing down, and then start to open the throttle, slowly, about half way and see if it starts running again. Not running at full throttle for extended periods of time is the only fix, other then putting in an electric pump or manual petcock. A worn belt seems to aggravate it as you tend to run WOT more often.

hey Kat, I'll let you try my 1500cc wing.... then we can talk heavy... it's roughly 900lbs... ... I'd let Kat ride it, for example... Yeah, uh, thanks urban, and not that I don't appreciate the offer nor the trust, but I think I'll pass. My second advanced MSF class, there was me'n'Peej, another gal on a Ninja (who slid out and got hurt and left), then Goldwings and whatever the Harley version is. When we parked together, my scoot looked like a little baby-bike next to all those big ol' brutes. I am very content with my 200cc bike, thankyouverymuch. Although I would like to someday scrunch on enough courage to try him on a highway...maybe.... >'Kat Kat, I didn't expect you to take me up on the offer. You probably live too far away. I was just saying, with your skill set, I would feel comfortable handing you the keys. Heck, you'd probably ride it better then I do, once you were comfortable... you have had the advanced msf class. You would be surprised... even tho it's a heavy pig, it's surprisingly easy to ride. Mine probably feels better balanced then your 200, believe it or not. Just keep your head up and forward when you stop, that's the only time it feels heavy, except when you put it up on the doublestand. Throttle is very tame. I know it's way better balanced then my 500cc Aprillia was. The 500, I would NOT just hand the keys off to anybody. The 1500 looks HUGE.... but it's really a gentle giant. Don't let it's heft scare you. I got on one, after being on a 150 and not having riden' anything else but the 150 other then about 20 miles on 175 enduro in the 80's (first bike I learned to ride)... that was the sum of my experience. I was able to make u-turns in the middle of a street with-in the first five minutes. The 1500's are that easy to ride. Again, just keep the head up, look where you wanna go, and go! . And that flat six... OMG that thing is smooth and has tons of torque. You can't bog that bike down, even if you start in second. OlChopper guy would love it, once he got on it.

De-acceleration valve on the carb might be bad or not getting vacuum. You have a picture of how the vacuum lines are routed?
