I think you are right, 2mm and under, no boring, If I remember right you can go up to a 4mm with no boring if you use a spacer,

Would a small stroker, like this one be a bad thing? uniquegy6.ecrater.com/p/20208163/hoca-gy6-stroker-crank I mean no boring and more power. I don't see the down side. Changing your crank, even with a stock one, you still need a new set of rings and a new cylinder sleeve. Might as well get more POW wile your at it,

I have no idea. I can run at 65 @ 7500 RPMS and still have plenty of throttle left and at that speed my scoot is still pulling hard. I'm not too interested in top speed. My scoot has crappy shocks and is shaped like a rolling brick so anything over 55 gets real sketchy. At 65 as of my last check, after a few seconds I have issues with fuel, like every one else with my type of scooter and the engine starts cutting out.
I'm running 10 gram rollers and stock gears. If I went up to 11 or 12 gram rollers I would have even more top speed.
I didn't build my scooter for top speed, I have no intention of ever taking it on the freeway. I am more interested in how fast I can get up to 55 and still have enough power to be able to get out of the way of the arsehole drivers in my city. On most of the main roads here that are 45 mph speed limit, if you can't run 50-55 you will get run over.

ccr They do make 4 valve heads, They just do not make very many cams. In all my research I've done I have only ever seen the cam that comes with the 4 valve head available. That's not to say there are not more options, just there are not as many and if there are more they are hard to find. The info I'm giving is from a gent named Buford here on the forums who does use a flow bench to test his heads, and again according too him the 4 valve head just can not match the performance of a properly ported 2 valve head. The thing with GY6 parts is that there has been a lot of research done into performance parts yielding in the production of very good performance parts. 1200 RPM springs can more than handle the need of the valves opening and closing on time. Keep in mind that the GY6, no matter the configuration, don't really need to turn more than 8500 RPMS. All 14+ of the available cams reach their peak hp production at 8500 and lower RPMs. On my setup, I have one of the most power producing cams available. My cam has so much lift that it did caused my intake valve to hit my piston. I had to shave a few thousandths of an inch off of the piston valve well to make it clear. I'm almost 1K miles on this top end and have had no problems. dmartin95 I'm good man, I've been around just not posting very much. The scoot's running like a madman on meth.

ccr According to one of the best 150cc head builders in the bis, a 2 port head can be made to have much larger valve ports than the combined size of a 4 port head. It has to do with the casting needing to make the additional ports and the small size of the actual head it'self. Also with a 4 port head you're available cam options are reduced. They just don't make very many 4 valve cams for the gy6 yet. Sourcing high RPM 2 valve heads that come with 1200 RPM valve springs and ti retainers is no problem. rcq92130 That was me to whom you've spoken to about the machining of the engine case.

Yah I don't know how long I would have put up with using individual cell chargers. That had to be a pain. My packs both came with a BMS and a one plug charger that did the whole pack.. I did pay quit a bit more for my packs. The 65 volt was a lil over 800 shipped.

Having owned 2 first gen Rx-7s I can tell you rotary engines are not without their problems. I would love to see what this design gets in MPG.
Jerry, Just curious as to where you were getting LiFe Po4 batteries that did not come with a balancing board already installed. I don't think I've seen a ready made battery pack sold without one. Until my scoot I rode nothing but my ebike for almost 5 years and in that time only had to buy 2 batteries. The second one I bought simply because I wanted higher voltage. The first pack still had many cycles left on it when I retired it.
Hobby grade LiPos are showing more and more promise as being a reliable means of power for electric vehicles. Year after year they get more and more stable and are now to a point that as long as you do some basic pre checks of the cells they are almost 100% safe.
Really the only down side to an ebike is not being able to ride 2 up and range. But at roughly 30-40 miles per charge, range isn't a huge issue.

Instead of the trouble of all these hidden kill switches, just carry a cable bike lock and wrap it through one of your rims and the frame/forks when parked. Like alley said a real pro isn't going to bother with all this crap and just stick it in the back of a truck. The cable will keep the scoot from being able to roll, so it really doesn't matter if they get it started.
The trouble of getting that lock off of the bike might even detour a would be pro from grabbing your scoot. Why take one thats going to be a pain vs one that someone didn't lock up.
I always lock up my scoot like this and where possible lock it to a sign or a bike rack.

The slapping of the belt is pretty normal. It happens as the engine's RPMs slow down and both pulleys in the CVT open and close. The increment amount of time between the variator opening vs the clutch closing causes some slack in the belt. This slack causes it to make a slapping noise. It does get worse as the belt ages and stretches some.

One of the most bang for your buck mods is a cold air intake. Even on my last car, a 2004 hyundai tiburon, with it's fuel injected engine, a cold air intake was one of the most noticeable mods I did.
The design of my scooters engine compartment is so closed off that heat coming off of my engine would cause my idle to go up 300+ RPMs. So one of the first mods I did was to make a cold air intake coming off of the left side of the scoot.
