Like the title says i have a 2012 GMW Rx50 and it looks like someone tried to start it with a screwdriver they did the same to the seat lock. Now i'm proud of both of the locks because they wouldn't turn for them but my problem now is they won't turn anymore with the key.... I have the front clip pulled so i can hotwire my scoot so i can get to work does anyone know of a wiring diagram for these scooters? I have to do this until payday then i can get new locks but i don't have the 50 bucks until then..... Stupid damn thieves......

Follow the red wire with the fuse to the IGNITION key then get a toggle switch off and on and connect that wire to the toggle switch then get a piece of wire and splice into the BLACK wire on the ignition switch and connect that to the other terminal on the toggle switch. Now you should be able to hit the toggle switch and it will pass the 12volts from the battery to the black wire just as if you turned the key on. Everything should work as before if no other wires were ripped apart. The Black wire feeds everything else on the scoot when the KEY is turned on the 12volts from the battery passes the 12volts to the black wire.

The only other little thing is you will have to use the KILLSWITCH to kill your motor. Now if that wiring was messed with then you will have to take the BOOT off the Spark plug to kill the motor. What happens to kill the motor is IT GROUNDS the CDI and that is what happens when the key is turned to the OFF position and or the KILLSWITCH is flipped to the KILL position. So if that part is not working then you will have to pull the BOOT CAP off the spark plug on the motor to kill the motor.

Okay thats not a problem at all. My next question what wire is the kill switch running to i would like to mount a hidden switch so when the next person tries to steal my scoot it won't start for them!

If you have AC CDI you can locate here: You can do the same thing with a DC CDI, just put a hidden switch on on the #5 PIN... Afterall, your scoot will not run without power to the CDI.

you should be extra careful now, because wiring a switch into it will make it easier for it to be stolen. in fact maybe the thief is counting on it. if i was going to steal a scooter, i wouldn't want to stick around long enough to rip the plastic apart and hot-wire it myself, i will just create the need for you to do my hot-wiring for me.

not the kill switch, i mean the ignition bypass switch, and yeah if i was going to steal it i would look for a killswitch also. you could always remove the kickstart temporarily and remove the battery whenever your not riding it

Very nice thanks man! Im really glad i found this place! My scoot has almost 5k miles its about time for some go fast parts. Im used to my 87 Acura Legend with a turbo 2.7 V6 if i can make that happen im sure i can make scoot go faster too lol.

Lets tell it like it is, IF the thiefs are professional there is nothing you can do to stop them the only thing you can do is make it take longer. But professionals will usually just pick it up and put it in back of a truck and drive away takes only a couple of minutes. Idiots will tear wires apart and whatever to get it to start so they can ride it away. Those are the idiots that some cutoffs will work with. Two or 3 small switchs A. 1 a switch to the Kill wire plug on the CDI B. 2 a switch in between the motor to frame ground wire, without a ground from the motor to frame NO SPARK C. 3 a switch to cut off juice from the battery to the front of the scoot.
The best one is motor to frame interrupted ground(no spark), not many are that smart. The killswitch they can pull the wire off the cdi, the 12volts to the front they would need to bypass and have a long enough wire to hook to the battery and to the front black feed wire(takes to long but can be done).
