Lets tell it like it is, IF the thiefs are professional there is nothing you can do to stop them the only thing you can do is make it take longer. But professionals will usually just pick it up and put it in back of a truck and drive away takes only a couple of minutes. Idiots will tear wires apart and whatever to get it to start so they can ride it away. Those are the idiots that some cutoffs will work with. Two or 3 small switchs A. 1 a switch to the Kill wire plug on the CDI B. 2 a switch in between the motor to frame ground wire, without a ground from the motor to frame NO SPARK C. 3 a switch to cut off juice from the battery to the front of the scoot. The best one is motor to frame interrupted ground(no spark), not many are that smart. The killswitch they can pull the wire off the cdi, the 12volts to the front they would need to bypass and have a long enough wire to hook to the battery and to the front black feed wire(takes to long but can be done). Well thats the thing i saw the dude on my security cam i live in the boonies so you know everyone here. It was a so called "friend" that has wanted my scooter since the day i got it im not going to say anything about it but the next time he comes over im going to play the tape then knock him into next week. I just want to see his face when he finds out i know it was him thats worth 50 bux all day long! I like the switch for the engine to frame ground but what about something like a remote relay like the Acura has. Hide it under all the plastic and hit the remote no start until you turn the relay back on.

I used to have a remote kill switch on my car (no longer have the car), this one is 4 channels, you can use it for the kill switch and to turn on and off and alarm: Remote switch

That's one of the only reasons I like PA , CASTLE DOCTRINE. In pa we have the castle doctrine + stand your ground . this makes it a little easier to protect your property. My neighbor had a dirt bike that was not running and it was on his porch , he had it locked up to his porch railing . my scoot was just sitting on my porch not locked up . i live in a duplex and our porches are connected . someone cut through his lock and stole his bike in the mid of the night " over the summer" . ever since I moved in i often clean my firearms on the porch where everyone can see. I also carry my 1911 open everywhere I go . it seems to keep the crooks at bay . although there have been a few instances with neighbors having things stolen and cars being broken into , I have yet to suffer the same fate . of course its not a guarantee but it seems to b working .

Instead of the trouble of all these hidden kill switches, just carry a cable bike lock and wrap it through one of your rims and the frame/forks when parked. Like alley said a real pro isn't going to bother with all this crap and just stick it in the back of a truck. The cable will keep the scoot from being able to roll, so it really doesn't matter if they get it started.
The trouble of getting that lock off of the bike might even detour a would be pro from grabbing your scoot. Why take one thats going to be a pain vs one that someone didn't lock up.
I always lock up my scoot like this and where possible lock it to a sign or a bike rack.

Like the title says i have a 2012 GMW Rx50 and it looks like someone tried to start it with a screwdriver they did the same to the seat lock. Now i'm proud of both of the locks because they wouldn't turn for them but my problem now is they won't turn anymore with the key.... I have the front clip pulled so i can hotwire my scoot so i can get to work does anyone know of a wiring diagram for these scooters? I have to do this until payday then i can get new locks but i don't have the 50 bucks until then..... Stupid damn thieves...... A popular online auction site sells alarm systems with remotes that disable the bike for about ten dollars, including a siren. For about 20 dollars it will also include a remote starting feature.

I'm with xy. And alley. If a real thief wants your bike, they'll just pick it up and take it. Hidden switches and whatever won't keep it safe. Lock it up to something, make it harder to take than the next guy's. Still no guarantee, but that's the best choice. You hope they look at your locks etc and then move on to that next guy's who only has a hidden kill switch.
When I ride to work, I park on the edge of the sidewalk in front of Panera's. Lots of foot traffic all day (oh trust me, LOTS of people!) I still cover and lock him. There, I just use a regular bike cable and matched padlocks. And the cover keeps him out of sight--might be something good, might be junk under there.
But then, chances are pretty slim anyone's gonna' pull up and lift my bike. Not in front of a busy Panera's, esp in nice weather when there's usually folks eating outside. Besides, I lock him to the handicapped sign. And he's 300-some pounds. I know, no guarantee for safety, but all combined makes him a lot less convenient to snatch and run.
Instead of doing all that hidden stuff, spend the money on a good loud alarm and a very solid-looking chain. And maybe unplug your battery when parked.

Nothing you can do if they want your ride. They snatch locked cars within less than a minute . All you can do is spend some bucks and make it a little more work for them that is all. The alarms and locks and stuff will stop the punks but not the professionals.

I am very sorry, Kat, but we did a DNA test and your bike is a "HER", not a 'him'. I suggest "Louise'.

You get to carry your 1911 ? Jealous. Here in Kommiefornia the last thing imaginable would be to have a 2nd Amendment.

I am very sorry, Kat, but we did a DNA test and your bike is a "HER", not a 'him'. I suggest "Louise'. Better rerun that test then. Peej is definitely a him. So is my Taury-car. The Lil' Lynx, that was VERY definitely a her. She could be a real b' sometimes. And she was hot for our mechanic's brother, and ran from KC to Florida (MANY times!!!) with very few troubles after I sold her to him. The Olds is a him. And he'd rev his engine whenever we passed a cute sports car in a parking lot. With my foot on the brake (a friend even witnessed this--engine revved and he asked "What're you doing?" as he looked and saw my foot was braking. Then said "What the h--?"). Sadly for The Olds, he's a '78 4-door sedan, so I'm pretty certain those cute sports cars weren't going for his type. The Tempo and the Topaz didn't last long enough to have genders determined. >'Kat

If someone sees your gun, chances are they are looking down the barrel. In PA you don't even need a license to carry to carry open . as long as u can own a firearm u can open carry . I do have my LTCF but since I carry a full size 1911 "45acp" I mostly leave it open "due to its size". There are some drawbacks with carrying open without a LTCF , for example when in a vehicle u must remove the firearm from ones self and separate mag from gun and ammo from mag and keep all separated , then u must reload the mag etc. After you stop to get out of the vehicle. With the LTCF you can keep the firearm on your side and loaded in a vehicle. Also when u carry open " LTCF or not" and enter a place of business you can be asked " or told" to cover the firearm . that's another situation where a LTCF comes up in handy. I agree with the above post that the best thing to do is make it harder for the crooks to take your scoot . more locks and or alarms.
