I am not obsessive about looks. I have had this one running since January and I have only washed it once, but it's not muddy here and the rain keeps the dust off. Now that it's warm I see bugs on the windshield. I'll have to get those off tonight. I change the oil when I sense a disturbance in the force, and I am going to check my valves again soon. Now that I have the external valve adjustment, it takes all of five minutes to pop the seat and adjust them. Sweet! I am happy when my scooter is running in top shape. I don't fuss about the detailing. I just want to trust it. I still miss the ride on Scootie though. Definitely superior in handling to this one, but this one's got more giddyup, more trunk space, cool "knight rider" type lights on the trunk, a big comfy seat, and a nice digital dash complete with a clock, handy for knowing how fast I need to drive! As long as it's running good and nothing is broken, I'm good to go. Extermal valve adjustment??? I need to see some pictures of that,,it takes me at least 45min. to do mine,,the plastics slow me down so much.... It is really cool. The way I read to do it is to put the thing on TDC or whatever and move the little adjusters like .004 or one notch but look at this video and see the easy way to do it while it is running. Yes, while it is running. Amazing. Whoever came up with this idea was a genius.

That's a good looking scooter. Nice color and the stickers give it a sporty look. Thanks , I still have some spaces to fill in , and I would like to paint the letters on my new tires . I had them done before " with the last set of tires " , but haven't got around to it yet. The lettering on the tires is a nice touch. What did you use for that?

How's it going, I brought my scoot into my living room to do some work on her . I'm changing the starter clutch for a high performance ncy starter clutch , installing the new koso variator , and I need to replace the seal in the trany box . I'll post some pics while I'm working on her. That's a good looking scooter. Nice color and the stickers give it a sporty look.

I like my scooter alot,,but there is always this kinda gritting my teeth, looking at it from the corner of my eye,,knowing its a chinese work of art..so Im always a bit leery about how its going to treat me,it has not gained my full trust yet,,and may never,,so i cant be too sweet to it. I do wash, degrease, change oil, belt, sliders, lube cables, pivot points, bushings, and all that stuff on a regular basis,,but it aint no Honda! You can say that again. Well at least I have a Honda clone. I miss my Hondas. Great bikes. I'm just stuck in scooter mode right now. Loving the CVT and just the fun of doing something new.

i don't have any personal experience with either tire. from what i have read kenda has a lot of mixed reviews, mostly bad, and shinko has mostly favorable reviews. i have a set of shinko's arriving today. not the same tread you are considering but i could give you my opinion of the sr429 in a couple days. I don't know about the life of the Kendas but I'll say the ones I had really gripped the road even with the bike practically on its side.

The diaphragm opening up allows more fuel in, not more air. If your plug is black, you are running too rich, too much fuel. I bet you have to keep your idle high to keep it running. If so, that is because increasing the turns on the idle speed screw actually opens up the buttefly, allowing more air in, which you need due to a too rich condition. Try turning your a/f screw in 1/4 turn at a time, waiting a full minute between each change. Once you get to the highest idle speed you can achieve, turn the a/f screw back out 1/4 turn. Now set your idle speed screw to the highest idle you can without causing the wheel to turn (or if you have an RPM gauge, set it to around 1700rpm). It idles very smoothly with the screw all the way out, not touching the throttle at all. It just dies, as if the bowl had run out of fuel. Adding any throttle via the screw or the the throttle cable just makes it die faster. I cleaned out the carb with spray in all of the holes but it makes me wonder if the float hole is letting fuel in. Maybe that's why I have to wait to start it again. Perhaps fuel is slowly filling the bowl again. If I try to open the throttle while cranking, it won't start. EDIT I took the bowl of and the plastic bowl has a metal tab. I also see fine particulate matter in some places, junk from the fuel tank I suppose. I'll try cleaning it again. I know Alley or someone posted how to check and adjust the float so I'll try that too if I can find it. SECOND EDIT. Found yellow gunk in bottom of bowl. Reminded me of sulfur. Cleaned it out and cleaned all the holes and jets again. Now running great on the stand. Must have got junk from the gas tank. The gas was yellow that I took out. It looked like Gatoraid. I think the old gas might have had phase separation as shown on the right in this online picture. I'm going to see if I can rinse it out and make sure it's clean. It looks like it's going to be a real pain to get the tank off the bike. Maybe I could just turn the bike upside down. UPDATE: Just an update on this old thread. The problem was bad gas gunking up the carb. I flushed and cleaned the gas tank and carb then it ran. Thanks, everyone.

If the air intake is covered say 1/2 to 3/4 does the engine run better? Blocking most air intake? I don't know. I didn't try that. It ran great but just could not stay running, as though it had run out of gas. Having to wait before starting it again was a clue that it might be flooding.

Wow. So the little dumb-butt manages to not get his head torn up after his obviously unfastened (or else too-big helmet) comes off. God *does* look after the idiots, sometimes. Dunno why though. >'Kat At least it was just that he took the fall and not the other rider he hit while passing him on the right and squeezing in-between that other rider and the two trucks. He may be wishing he had died once rehab starts if the truck tire went over his fingers or that tailbone injury is bad enough. You just had a wreck recently, didn't you? How are you doing?

It doesn't always go well. That was a super close call. Here is a video of close calls. At the 10 minute mark a rider passes a car, the driver opens the door and boom. In another scene a guy lays down in the road as a bus rolls over him at high speed. So much insanity. Not for the faint of heart.

Does fuel flow from the carb through the intake and into the combustion chamber well? A tiny hole in the diaphragm can make a big difference I would think in such a small engine. I'm no pro but it sounds like when you start at first the mix is okay right from start, but after the engine sucks up the mixture it changes and becomes a bad mix and the engine cannot use it to keep going. It running at higher revs if it warms up sounds like it may be able to run that high because the vacuum pressure is sucking in enough to offset it some, but I would think it would still be running bad. Have you checked the plug after warmup when it dies? The plug is black but not wet. Looks over rich. You can't rev it unless you let it sit for a bit. It's as though there is one "shot" of fuel and then it's done. A few seconds at higher rpm or several seconds at idle. Either way the ending is the same. The engine loses rpm and dies. I can get it to idle again after waiting, say, 30 seconds or a minute or so. It won't rev up unless it sits for several minutes turned off. Just a WAG that maybe the diaphragm isn't opening up properly. I don't really understand how it works yet, but I assume it needs to open to let more air in.

I have a 2013 50cc Bintelli Taizhou Zhongneng Motorcycle Co. Sprint Bread 50 GY6 here.
Idles for a few seconds, then dies. Any attempt to give it gas kills it. Will start again after waiting for a minute. Seems to be flooding.
Has spark, lights work, cleaned the carb, adjusted the valves. Changed the gas out. Fuel seems to flow to the carb fine. Tank is vented well. Fuel air mix is capped but idle is perfect until it dies. Will rev high if allowed to sit for a while, then slows down and dies after a few seconds at any throttle position.
My only clue is that the diaphragm appears to have been pinched by a previous "mechanic". I didn't see any damage to it, and it went back in okay.
I plan to order a new carb in case the diaphragm or the enricher is bad. Does that sound about right?

That's very stylish. I see that is the same one your daughter has her foot on. She looks like she's thinking, "That would look good on me." Lol, she has her own helmet , she can't have mine , lol . the mirror tint visor isn't on the helmet in that pic. I ordered a replacement visor " due to so many scratches " and they sent me a mirror tint visor . it kinda sucks at night but I got use to it. A buddy of mine let me borrow the helmet when I got my scoot " he sorta made me take it since I wasn't wearing one " . a couple weeks later he told me to keep it . I tried to pay him for it but he wouldn't take the money. He had another one just like it but it was a different color. Id never go without a full face helmet , especially without a windshield. I got the Torc T22B modular after seeing a review of a modular by Captain Crunk on youtube and I freaking love it. It's not as stylish as yours but I really like being able to flip the lid up when it's hot or when I want to talk to someone. It has a flip-up outer shield and a lever actuated flip down inner visor. You can see the visor is down in the picture. It comes with three visors, and I opted for the dark smoke for sunny days. There is also a light grey and a yellow visor included. They also offer a mirrored face shield, which is very cool, but like you said, maybe not the best for night time. It's a bit heavy, large, and hot inside, and I'd say it's side covers are a little on the cheap side, made just to cover up the visor mechanisms, but I highly recommend this very functional helmet with or without the bluetooth. It gets a lot of compliments too. I think these are going to be very popular. About 75 bucks without the bluetooth, 170 with bluetooth. Some sellers are charging 350 for the same helmet.
