How's it going, I brought my scoot into my living room to do some work on her . I'm changing the starter clutch for a high performance ncy starter clutch , installing the new koso variator , and I need to replace the seal in the trany box . I'll post some pics while I'm working on her.

Put her up on a block . this works perfect when removing anything off the rear of the scoot.

If your wondering , I use about 4 table spoons of blue-bonnet butter to mix into the engine oil , lol. Actually I'm just using the container to drain the oils .

Better be careful, geh. She'll get used to being kept inside. And once you're done working on her and move her back outside, oh boy howdy the trouble you'll be in!

I used vise grips and a breaker bar on the nut , and I used a socket and wrench on the variator , wedged it against the block , so as it turned the nut with the vise grips and breaker bar , the socket wrench on the variator kept the crank from spinning. It worked great !

I actually have a 19.2 volt craftsman 1/4 inch impact and an 8 amp 1/2 inch electric impact. Here is the new ncy starter clutch , exciting ain't it , lol . I should have taken a pic of the internals . they are very different , the ncy is made much better .

The old starter clutch in the pic , had a noticeable problem . one of the three rollers was unable to retract completely due to one of the springs and followers where out of place . I'm not sure if that's what was causing the noise ? The roller could have been riding against the starter clutch gear , not sure . I guess I'll find out when I can start it. I just got back from the grocery store with the girls, " my wife was admitted into the hospital yesterday , I'll post more in my " in need of prayers" thread " . i don't feel like pulling the rear wheel and I the clutch tonight to replace the seal . I'll have to do it 2mro.

Wow. SO SORRY your families' med challenges are continuing. Prayers will also continue, and prayers WORK!
RE; the starter clutch - what I've done with these kind of nuts (since I'm too cheap to buy ll the 'special tools' is to take a standard deep well socket of the right diameter and grind the lip down so all that remains are the needed (in this case 3) "teeth". These then fit into the nut's notches and work just like a special tool. Anyway - too late now, but maybe at some point in the future might be an idea that is useful

I would have had to cut one in half , weld it to another deep well , and cut the teeth out . luckily I was able to get it off pretty quick.
