I owned a victory before buying my vrod. They're smooth engines that make great power. Although I don't think the scout will compete with the vrod as much as they'd like, it does look freaking sweet. for 4k more you get 25 more hp and an aftermarket line up to be jealous of. I do love the idea of more big name motorcycle companies coming out. I have a special place in my heart for victory. Looks like they're headed in the right direction. Would like to see what they learn from the indian scout make its way to the victory hammer.

You can replace the head without removing the engine easily. Make sure you have the cam set correctly so you can keep it all in time. You don't need to do anything with the piston if you're just replacing the head due to not being able to get some bolts extracted. Just replacing the head the piston should stay in the jug.

I have a 2008 znen I bought off CL for $400 with 293 miles on it but it seems in my area that scooters don't resale for very much. I dig mine (same model different name) Good find, have fun with it!

I've seen a lot of times when they sit that people go directly to cleaning the carb. I myself will also clean them but I've found that in some instances that the vacuum fuel pump was the culprit, rubbers would dry out and crack, no fuel = no running. In your case it might not pull enough vacuum to keep running. If you can get it started with some starting fluid and turn down on the throttle and it'll run but as soon as you try to let it idle it'll die would point you to the main jet being clogged up.

Is that West Ford Texas or Weatherford Texas? Weatherford Tx. Not to far from Ft Worth though.

Harley just came out with a 750cc which is a lot smaller then their norm. Kind of reminds me of a buell. I'd love to have an old M50 scooter.I say if you like it and it fits your needs get it. To many people get wrapped up in what other people will think of them/it. I own a Vrod which is a harley BUT since Porsche had a big hand in desiging the motor and that it's water cooled a lot of die hard harley guys give me grief over it. At the end of the day I'm the one making payments on it so I bought what I wanted. If we weren't so wrapped up in self image I would bet money on way more people owning and driving scooters.

couldn't see how you would gap them, might be gaped out of the box. I know the 4 strap ones are that way. In theory it works but in practice I would see it hurting more than helping.

Getting a BMW scooter or a vrod I love two wheels. I have an 09 VRod Muscle and absolutely love it. 0 maintenance motor besides the obvious oil changes. you can search youtube for "vrod documentary" and it'll pull up 1.5 hours of goodness. Stay safe on them though, tons of power.

thanks for all the quick responses. I called them back and found out they'll insure it with just liability which is fine because if it's totaled I only paid $250 for the scooter so not a huge loss, just making sure who ever is on it has coverage really. Taking care of myself or my wife in an accident is what I want, could care less about them taking care of the scooter.

hey all I'm new to the forums but have been a long time lurker when it was over at the dawgs. I purchased a Jonway YY150T-5 scooter for my wife and have got it up and running in tip top shape. I currently went to get insurance on it and they can not find that specific model even existing. It's a good 'ole vespa copy but I've scoured google and turn up zilch. I've found all the "T" lines but it skips from 4 to 6. No problems with the scooter at all, don't know if they got some kind of "stop making a vespa copy" letter or the brand just no longer supports it. I know several other companies have the same scooter under a different name but trying to get insurance on this model has proven more than difficult. Anyone have any idea on why it doesn't show up at all or is my luck just that bad?

Hey all. Been lurking & finally joined. I have a 08 znen 150cc & my wife has a 09 jonway yy150t-5 which has perplexed me as I can't find any info on it at all. We like to go out together & have gone on scooter vacations as well. I also own a 09 harley vrod. Looking forward to all this site has to offer.
