Final update.
Rode the scoot home tonight and it was sweet. Really not sure what it actually was that fixed it but I never replaced anything. All i done was strip things down and put back together. My best guess is that something was stuck or caught In the flywheel area as up until I took the cover off and turned it by hand it wouldn't run very well at all. But after I had turned it manually a few times it suddenly was working sweet again!
Also noticed my speed had dropped off massively on the first ride in over 4 weeks until my friend said to me that the rear tyre looked soft (didnt feel Soft when riding)Checked it and it was only at 8psi! Should have been 40psi. Needless to say its back upto hitting 40mph on the flat and that's even with my 18 stone bulk on it.

Check your tire pressures! I have recently got my 50cc jonway scoot back on the road after stripping it down due to a poor running problem. Took it for a test ride and struggled to hit 20mph on the flat. Then my mate told me the rear tyre looked flat (but didn't feel like it). Checked it and it was only at 8psi! Should have been 40psi.Realised I've got a screw in the tyre causing a slow puncture. Needless to say,the difference is amazing. Hits 40mph on the flat again and is running sweet. Easy to check and may be the problem. Good luck

Bit of an update. Bike is sort of fixed but still has issues. Don't know how I done it it but it's not bogging and the horrible knocking noise has gone. Issue now is that it seems to have lost speed. Before,it would sit at 30mph on the flat and 45mph downhill. But now it takes forever to get to 20mph on the flat and only hits 30mph downhill! Could it be gears?

Really need some help here guys before I strip the full thing!!!!
Just to refresh... Drove bike home 3 miles fine, stored away indoors overnight, went to ride next morn and was terrible, bogging and knocking noise! Will start and tick over all day long without issue. I've already checked carb and it's clear. Checked clutch am that's fine. Checked compression and that's 180psi. Checked valves ok. Checke exhaust for blockages and that's ok.changed Cdi to original factory one.
Arrrrfgggggggghhhhhhhhh
What could it be?

I've had the exhaust completely off and there is no blockages! I've also check to see if the timing marks still align and they do. I did notice that the rockers are loose but the nut is tight. Is this how they are supposed to be? I can literally move them up and down by hand but only to the 0.003 gapwhich they are set at.
Think it's gonna have to be the head off next and see if anything is bust in there. Is it worth fitting the 70cc head that I already have while it's in bits or could this just cause further issues/confusion with the existing problem?
Really need some more help guys. Thanks

Cheers. The bike is only 12 months old so I can't see the rubber being perished or cracked, especially living in the uk. I'll check the exhaust system tomoz but to me it sound more serious, like it's internal, but not sure where abouts!!

Thanks guys. It will be a bit difficult to use the stethoscope AND ride at the same time as the noise only seems to happen when riding and under load!
Cant be bad gas as i am half way thru a tank full which was ok. I will get a video tomoz of the problem and sound.

Replaced the vacuum intake spacer/gasket and it's still bogging and making a horrible metallic clatter. Strangely it only does it under load. It seems to run better with no noise and hardly any bogging when the throttle is very slightly applied, maybe 1/10 of a turn and 5-10mph.

Checked valves and they are fine. Checked rollers and variator and they are fine. Checked clutch and that is fine. Can't see it being the bendix as it was wasn't doing it before. Only removed cvt cover to check for noise.

Also forgot to mention that when I was checking the vacuum I noticed that the spacer/gasket under the vacuum intake pipe (thick hard plastic with a rubber o ring) had cracked in half and that some of the hard plastic was missing, only small fragments but thats probably fell into the block! Would that cause any of the issues I've described.
I did put another spacer/gasket on,but it was an old one I had and the o ring wasn't in perfect condition!

If it has been running lean and it has caused damage somewhere, where shouldI be looking for the tell tale signs? Spark plug? Piston? Valves?

I'm still struggling with this issue guys!
The bike will start and idle no bother at all. It will even ride but very very hesitant and a knocking/rattling noise is still happening. I can't isolate where the noise is actually coming from so it's hard to know where to start!
As I've said in previous posts,I've taken then cvt cover off and taken the variator off and also taken the clutch assembly off, both of which seem ok. I've rode the bike without the cvt cover on and the noise is still there,so I can eliminate the kick start!
What's gonna be the next best thing to look at/strip out? Top end such as block and piston or bottom end such as gearing and crank?
Is there anyway of knowing or checking the transmission behind the cvt? ALSO.. A point to note is that I've never changed the transmission fluid from when I first got the scoot so could it be something to do with that??
Any help is much appreciated guys as I'm stuck without you all. Bike has been off the road for 6 weeks now and I really need to get it sorted or scrapped. Thanks
