New cdi has arrived, fitted it and its still the same waiting for the coil,ht lead and spark plug but doubt that is the cause as it has a strong spark when i tested it! But fingers crossed. is the spark any different when its under load?

Thank guys. I have bought a few parts and just waiting for them to be delivered. I opted for a standard replacement cdi, new coil,ht lead, cap and NGK spark plug. This only cost £19 delivered for everything! Hopefully that will get it running again, failing that I'm stuck again. Will update when they arrive and are fitted.

I managed to ride it home from work last night (4 miles) but It was horrendous. Very hesitant again and sluggish. Now this morning before trying to get it back to work I changed the plug and it is 100% WORSE!! And can't even ride it! Could this mean a ht lead problem? I altered the valve clearances when I last had a problem but can't remember what I set them at, but can't see that being the problem as its only started happening since washing it.

Hi guys. Didn't think I had had any replies but I have. Lol. Bike still not running as it should. It is rideable but very hesitant/jerky and loses power over a short journey. It doesn't sound like it revs as high as it used to,but that could just be me. It does get upto full speed eventually but takes some getting there and eventually slowly loses power. I've cleaned the carb out and all the jets, drained the fuel tank and re filled with fresh fuel, and also checked the air filter For cracks and checked vacuum which is all ok and have checked the spark which is good. it does seem a bit better once warmed but still not as it should be! What else on the electrical side can cause these symptoms? Coil, cdi, plug??? Really struggling for ideas now.

Hi all. I have a 2012 plate jonway italia 50cc GY6 scoot with 1000kms on the clock. Totally standard. I washed it last weekend and afterwards it would not start,so I left it at work in front of the big fan heater and on the Monday morning it started first click. All the following week I rode it home but could tell it wasnt how it should be, slight bogging and loss of power!! Eventually at the weekend (7 days later) it finally gave up an stopped running twice ony way to work, however it did start again and runs for a short distance but not at full power and really hesitant. I have drained the fuel tank and re filled with fresh fuel, changed the oil, checked spark plug and spark, checked vacuum!! It's still running with a lack of power and hesitation. What else can cause these symptoms??? Thanks
