NYCSP0007 check out the video with the timing light. John I watched it, but I really don't know what I am looking at. Does it have no advance at low RPM, and it advances from there? its at zero at idle, listen to the engine and watch what the light is lighting. When it gets to 3000 rpm it jumps to about 30 degree advance. John |

Spark plugs can give all kinds of problems. I learn that the hard way in my teens. I've even seen ignition coils create hardstart issues.

I would recheck the valves. Since you have a meter. Let's have a look at the stator plug. Set your meter to ac volts crank the engine and read the voltage on the black/red wire coming from the stator to ground. Then do the same to the blue/white wire come back with the readings.

have you inspected the variator? Checked that the rollers are round free of flat spots?
