JCL MP250A Lihai 257cc powered / It ran great but couldn't seem to go over 65 mph with the roller/slider combo. So I'm going with four 12 gram sliders and four 11 gram sliders. That should do it judging from what I have already learned playing with my CVT for 2 whole weeks now. One thing I am pretty sure of now is this 257 cc scooter can not go any faster than 68 mph per scooter speedo with my 270 lbs 6 '3 wind catching self on it without a substantial performance upgrade. lets say a Scappydawg 295cc piston and cylinder upgrade ? $500 big ones though !

JCL MP250A Lihai 257cc powered You have a much better aditude than I do after a PITA job like that. Good job ! I'm glad you figured it out and actually fixed it. Problems like that can turn into a real Bear. But now your rolling again. My eletrical problem is solved also. I'm still not sure what exactly happened. My CDI and my coil was fried. I believe I had a hand in it when I over revved the engine one time working on my CVT. I noticed it started giving me trouble after I revved it up to 8,300 rpm on the center stand as said . I guess the voltage regulator did'nt regulate as well as it should have. But with a little help here I finally got the right combination of parts to get it spark. Glad we are both riding clean again

Ok, so it's not a scooter, but as a teeny tiny motorcycle, the Grom is awesome. There are some drawbacks to a shifty bike, but I never stall it at all on this test ride and review...well...almost never...well, a lot JCL MP250A Lihai 257cc powered / How fast is not terribly fast ? What is rider weight and roughly top speed in town ? What is it,45,55,60 mph ? I like the way most reviewers leave out hard numbers. Their so afraid people will think something is slow. Well, only an idiot would think a modern low compression 125 would go 70-80-or mph with a full grown anything on its back !

Pinned. Florida HollyHOOD representing the stolen scooter capital of the states LOL to be honest, i spent more on my locks than i dis on my bikes.... JCL MP250A Lihai 257cc powered / I hate to admit it , But when I was a little Scum Bag thief I stole my share of small motorcycles and mopeds in Hollywood, FL. in the early mid 70s. The cops ended my thieving career when I stole a new Motobecane moped from the front of the Publix on the band shell circle. I forget what the official name of the circle was. But anyway, I got safely home with it . But I was so excited to ride it that I could'nt help myself ! An hour later I was riding down the street on that little gem like a little dumb when the very same Cop that just wrote the stolen vehicle report at the seen saw me tooling about on it. Hey, It was 3-4 miles away in a fairly big town. I thought I was safe. lol Well, The rest is history like my poor choices of a latch key kid of the 70s thank God. BTW , There was a fresh ounce of weed that the owner had in the little saddle bag that I had'nt a clue was there yet that didn't help matters for me one bit when the cop found it ! LOL Crime Doesnt pay, You Dumb Dumbs that steal peoples things that are not yours ! Thank God this didn't happen in today's unforgiving world. They probably would give me life. Or I would have been getting out of prison about now. LOL.

JCL MP250A Lihai 257cc powered Its running fine now. The 12 gram DP style sliders are 2 grams per slider less than my stock rollers were. But instead of increasing RPM per speed / mph my RPM decreased ? I was going 67-68 mph with my old 14 gram "rollers" with 6600-6800 rpm . Now with 12 gram "sliders" at 67 mph I'm only revving 6000 RPM ? Thats 500 rpm below my peak HP @ 6500 rpm. I am going to experiment with putting 4 rollers in at 13 grams (I drilled them to 13 grams) each mixed with 4 of my 12 gram sliders tomorrow just to see if I can get the best of both worlds ? If I don't gain any RPM I'm prepared to drill one more gram out of my 4 rollers that are 13 grams now.

JCL MP250A Lihai 257cc powered I have listened to your valve / use high grade gas comment. Now I burn nothing but High test. Because it made sense to me. There is no computer run variable timeing to adjust for crap gas.

Sounds awesome and the engine is sweet. Rear shock sucks....literally, i can hear it. Front shocks are air and I know nothing about what/how to adj psi in them. Supposidly they don't make valves for this anymore so when i blow up the motor i'm out of luck...not sure. Read more: itistheride.boards.net/post/119253/edit#ixzz4NPRdtbLfAlmost all suspension sucked in those days, mono or duel shock. lol

When my JCL MP250A (linhia powered) dash lights all went out it was that 20 amp fuse hidden in the starter solinoid connection plug. Then I found out my coil was bad too.

Just for info sake, What is the max volts a battery is allowed to drop after a fresh charge that brings it up to lets say 12.5 volts. How much can it drop in a day and still be cosidered good I wonder ? I charged mine up to said 12.5 and just sitting there for a day it droped to like 11.2-4 volts in a day.
