Trying to trouble shoot my starting issues. The slide barely moves more than half an inch (up- towards the diaphragm) when I move the throttle. Looking through the intake hole I still seek 3/4s of the slide. Showed the video to my friend who has bikes and He says something isn't right. Any advice is appreciated. It's a 2002 Honda elite 80. 255 miles. Thanks.

If the motor is running while your seeing what you described inside the carb then your diaphragm in the top of the carb is leaking. Presuming you have full throttle cable mobility. Are you sure your throttle cable reaches full throttle ? No corrosion / roughness in the throttle slide channel impeding the slides movement ?
