The cylinder/jug is completely removed and the piston is protruding from the crank case, just not enough to get to the clips to remove it. Will try penetrating oil and tapping it lightly with a rubber mallet to see if that frees it up. Thanks for the feedback.

The valve cover and head are off, cam is pulled off etc. Wasn't very clear about that, my bad. Basically I'm not sure how to get the piston unstuck to access the clips and remove it from the cylinder.
Edit: Just to be a little more clear, the top end is already pulled off. The problem is that the piston only sticks out of the crank case by about an inch, not enough to access the clips to remove it. The engine wont move so I can't push the piston out any further.

I have a znen 150t-9 which has the BN157QMJ engine. Have been reading a lot about these particular engines needing top-end rebuilds pretty early on. Mine has been maintained well, but finally seems to have given out on me after about 3,200 miles. Long story short, the engine is seized. I ran through all of the basics before cracking it open. It seems like the piston is stuck in place. It refuses to move, even when trying to gently use the kick starter. I want to pull it apart to take a better look, but can't get the piston out. So, first, how should I proceed here? Also, will the standard 157qmj top end rebuild kits fit this engine or do I need one specifically for the BN variant? Thanks in advance.

Ordered a bunch of pilot and main jets from them. They came through just fine, nothing spectacular though.

I have a Puma Apache 150. It has a 150cc GY6 engine (157QMJ). The scooter has dual rear shocks. How do I know which exhausts will fit and which won't? Thanks!

Most use 10w 40 , I also use royal purple , there is no better synthetic oil out there. In my and many others opinions . It's expensive but worth it . Don't change the brand. Is there any practical difference between the two? Should I switch to 10w 40? Thanks.

Yeah, it runs perfectly once it's warmed up. Idles smoothly at about 1900 RPM. It doesn't die at red lights or anything, just while starting and heating up.

From what I understand, doing aftermarket upgrades to a scooter decreases resale value, and will more than likely void any manufacturer's warranty. I'm fairly new to this, so take that with a grain of salt, but that's my understanding. Somebody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey everybody. So I have a 2013 Puma Apache, manufactured by ZNEN, and it's been great so far. I know people like to rip on Chinese scooters, but I've been more than happy with the build quality, considering the price. Some of the hardware and vacuum/fuel lines were obviously bad quality, but they've been replaced.
Anyway, I recently replaced the stock air box with a UNI air filter, and changed the main jet from a stock 110 to a 115. I also switched the engine oil when I changed the air filter, about 200 miles ago. Everything else is stock, except for an NCY ignition coil and iridium spark plug (NGK brand CR7HIX). After I changed the air filter, the scooter has problems warming up. It starts perfectly, and runs great once the engine is hot.
The only problem is that I have to start it 3 or 4 times while its warming up. I always start it in the garage and let it heat up for a while before driving it. It'll fire and start, but after 30 seconds or so the RPM's drop, and it dies. So I'll start it again, and it'll die again. But after a few rounds of this, it runs like a dream. It's not really a major concern, just annoying. If I hang out and pull the throttle a bit through the warming up process, it won't die. What could be causing this? The oil I'm using is Royal Purple 10W-30 for 4-stroke engines, and Royal Purple gear oil...if that matters. The scooter has about 900 miles. I bought it brand new and broke in the engine properly (as far as I know).
I've checked the carb float, it moves properly and isn't clogged/blocked/damaged. Same thing with the auto choke needle. I've torn apart and cleaned the carb with cleaner and compressed air a million times, but no dice.
Thanks! EP
