If that doesn't do the trick check the wires. mine did the same thing on one of the plugs was plugged backward and it caught fire. it was doing the same thing. i'd ride a bit.. it'd die. try to start it 11 times nothing. randomly start again. also sometimes the carbs have shat in them from the making of them and it the assembler didn't clear them you might have a clogged jet.

like i said. i never saw the read out but i'v never had an issue on the freeway. when i get this new muffler on i'll run a good speed test and get video and let you guys know the verdict. regardless it IS much fast then most 150's i have seen. it leave my friends jonway in the dust.

it's possible they modeled some of the new parts after previous mods.the Chinese market is finally getting competitive which is why you can't get a 150 for $600 wholesale anymore. i mean taotaos would self destruct 5 years ago and were plastic hunks of shat. or maybe the freeway is more down hill then i think(doubt it.) but i'll tell you i have NO issue on the freeway. i have never my self seen the speed. i'll get pic or video done soon to check and upload the results. i do know my friend has a 2012 jonway 150cc and for some reason he can barely hit 50mph and can't keep up.

tucked in, on the freeway, friend following in a ford F150. yes. day off the lot it did 65, the 2013 is faster then the 2012. my dealer/mechanic couldn't figure it out either. it's a four stroke and it SAYS.. IT says. 10 HP. i weigh 160. also there's almost no wind ...ever here.

I have now had my Powermax 150 for 1 year. I am going to telling all the good, bad, ugly you want to know. feel free to ask whatever. When i first got the moped I was trading in a jonway 50cc after an old lady T-boned me at a stop sign (yeah... great way to start life on 2 wheels right?). any who i traded up to the tao tao. first issue i had was it was wired backwards and caught fire 1 hour off the lot. too be fair it was the assemblers fault, not the factory. 2nd issue the speedometer has always been WAY! off. don't kow why either cause as of breaking in i hit 75mph on flat easy, so i chalk it up to chinometer quality, not cheating numbers. 3rd... the odometer.....just stopped at 700 miles. never worked again. i think i was due to it catching on fire day one as it stopped a week later. 4th on my way home some jackass wasn't watching there pitbull and it ran out of a tree line 20 feet in front of me. i was going down a steep hill about 45mph and nollied.....maybe flipped. not sure. the forks were twisted and had to replace the whole front end. i however took 5 months and need surgery on a bone in my hand(still ridingv though.). the people moved out of that house a week later -_-. i will say aside from a scar on the side the body held up very well. confirmed it IS fiberglass and not shabby at that. 5TH issue, the muffler fell off last week after rattling and shaking it's self to pieces for 6 months. i wasn't surprised. bought a after market one and dammed all if the pipe doesn't fit. BIG issue. having a welder bend it this week. total cost $105. it IS a pain. if you ever get one kitted. let THEM install it or get a custom. most bikes aren't an issue with the pipe but some GY6 moped are to wide for it.
moped price was $1050 with 3 month warranty. front end cost me $450 including repair. muffler so far $105. total investment $1605. my thought on it? i love it. like i said i get 70MPH easy. i have pushed the handling to the limits. taking mid turn going 50mph. even sparking my kickstand. i get 70 mpg city. if you get one i suggest drop $100 in after market parts like pegs and mirrors. it's a sweet ride for so cheap.
