Why not try used shocks off an 70's Honda CB750? They have eye and clevis mounts and are 13" long.

JerryScript I understand that the stock chain can be split but I have read that the 4 valve head have endless chains

aendlich Are you talking about the cooling shroud that goes over the cooling fan. I would not leave it off for long thats how the motor is cooled.

aendlich One other thing to check is the CDI ignition timing pick-up. Its attached to the stator.

romei Did you use tire mounting lube? Soapy water works also.

The heads are different between 157 qmj 150cc to a 1p57qmj 150cc. The cam seats have a different heights. Also the 4 valve heads require cam chain be replaces which means splitting the case.

The CDI timing pick-up is part of the stator, maybe that the problem

For the crank but will not run: Check the CDI which is under the seat next to the battery. Make sure the terminals are not corroded and pushed all the way into CDI For the turn key and nothing: Check the starter relay. Mine went out and I replaced it with an automotive one. It should last forever.

hotblairballoon You may have an air leak in the intake elbow. Its the rubber part between the carb and head.
