Oh, I have the no rev limit cdi - it has the LED light on it that is how I know its firing - but the part of one or the other does not fire is valid - its those 2 quick connects - I have saved the diagrams and will check on the wiring.

I received a voicemail from a tech but he was a foreigner and couldn't understand him at all - I hate calling places for support anyway, that's why I come here.
The reason I cut the wires, is I've had issues disconnecting the wires from the plugs and putting them in another, they don't sit securely, so cutting and splicing wires is easier.

I didn't remove the wiring from the plug,. I just cut the wires about 3in from the plug, then stripped back and reconnected the solid colors off the stator to the new 3 way plug seen in pic 2.

I forgot to mention that as the new stator came with the different 3 prong, I had the same connector on a spare wiring harness that I replaced on the current wiring harness the bike came with. The new harness won't work with the bike as it has 2 plugs that don't match the bike for the steering area. Then it had 1 extra plug toward the cdi area that didn't connect to anything.

This is weird, so I ordered a new stator that is the same 8 pole as the old, the new stator has a different 3 pin connector than the old. (Pictured below) (Old connector to stator) imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/196/it06.jpgNew connector new stator: imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/822/rznf.jpgSo since I was using the old wiring harness, I just cut the new stator 3 prong (2nd pic) and replaced it with the old stator 3 prong. I saw that the stator with the 2 quick connect plugs lit the cdi, but did not fire the spark plug (ignition coil is in good condition.) This pic is the 2 quick connect plugs that is problematic. imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/21/v8y5.jpgNow the wire colors off the new & old stator is the EXACT same color - the only difference is the color from the cdi to wire harness of the bike. All the wires are plugged in, and seem to be correct, the issue is the 3 pic I posted, the 2 quick connects - if I swap the wires, red/black to red/white & blue/white to red/white - the spark plug fires but not the cdi, but if I reverse them and put red/white to blue/white - the cdi fires but not the spark plug - both won't fire at the same time. I later on removed the old stator 3 prong and replaced it with the new 3 prong in pic 2 thinking the new stator required the bigger prongs. And same result.
So what gives? Course I thought the red/black was power that went elsewhere not the stator, but the red/white on the 3 prong of the cdi was the only one that went to the stator. Maybe I got confused but the wiring is the same as it was before. But its almost like the 2 quick connects is grounding out the other.

Thanks Jerry for the info.
Out of curiosity, is there a way to replace the CDI with a better system? I don't mean racing CDI as I have that, but seeing how I am having continuous issues with cdi, I wonder if it can be converted to something else to start the bike or at least bypass it.
Ally - I checked the cylinder valve, and it was not kinked. The oil did not smell like gas. I charged the battery, and it did turn over like its supposed to, but the cdi is not firing. I am thinking of doing a complete rewire, but that will be tough if the new harness is not labeled. Any thoughts?

Thanks Ally for confirming both bulbs and belt - can't wait to get those bulbs replaced so I can at least read the fuel gauge (with the sensor being so prone to failing, I may end up counting mileage til next fillup - thus my 120mi trip I only got 80mi from a full tank haha.
I will check the scorpion battery, I imagine our stock gets what 60CCA?
urbanmadness - thanks for your response - I have a electric impact gun for use at the shop, but on the road, it would be useless - do you know if the 12V has enough torque to get the variator nut off? I am glad I ran the 240mi round trip the stock belt not breaking, or anything else going on wrong. __________________________________________
So I tried starting the bike after replacing the new cylinder head with a brand new spark plug - here is 2 things I have noticed:
With the plug out, the motor turns over just fine - put the plug in, motor struggles to turn over, makes that dead battery sound.
2) OIL - Evr'ybody run! Oil before the plug blew was reading just fine, could see the level where it needed to be - NOW, heck it is clear up the oil ruler almost running out the filler. I have ordered a flywheel puller and should be here by next Tues. I will check the oil pump.
Any suggestions on the crank - I can confirm spark from the plug.

I checked ebay, I couldn't find a relisting of that item even though it said they relisted it, but after doing some checking, I assume THIS would work as well? What belt size do you recommend for the GY6, 150CC, 157QMJ long case engine? It came stock with 842, thus I got a gates in the same size, but wonder if I should take it down to 743/788 - the site I got my bike from offers several sizes - 743,788, 842. Also what replacement battery brand is recommended? - I saw some reviews on Scorpion from batterystuff, but I heard its made from china.

I have been aggrevated with the dash panel lighting being so dim, I have to strain my eyes to read it.
Is there a way to get the display to be brighter?

Thanks for that - The one hose runs to the exhaust not Cylinder.
I will put the fuel filter as suggested on the hose to the EVAP system.

Taking advantage of my vehicles warranty I have ordered a spare carb, stock muffler, as well as a stock airbox.
1) The new airbox intake manifold does not have the nipple near the carb inlet (the T nipple that goes to the EVAP as well as the exhaust intake. With the nipple gone, does that mean this eliminates the hoses to exhaust as well as the EVAP?
I want to double check cuz with the spare parts I've ordered, nothing is quite stock like it was on the bike - heck the new exhaust doesn't have "Burn warning" on the side.
2) The new carb main jet is 102, which my original was 108, same carb, why would the jet be smaller?
I'm installing the new cylinder head tomorrow as the spark plug blew out the hole thus stripping the threads and I couldn't fix it with tap n die.

thanks Alley for the tip - will look into that.
I installed a new fuel sensor on the bike today - I saw that the sensor arm was bent backwards than what it should have been (didn't look tampered with), but if the arm was at the bottom of the tank, it read full, if at the top - it read empty haha - I bent the arm the opposite direction and it reads properly now tho. The wires matched the same on the bike.

I've gotten used to the speedo off, but its no big deal.
As for the lights - I was wanting to run a switch so I could have it off at the shop when working on it (wouldn't need it on) I wouldn't have it off when running in the daytime. Besides, the model bike I have - there is only one headlight on at a time - not both which all model MC-23 are the same way.
Was there a retrofit article that explained how to fix that?

You do know a scooter barely puts out any amps so it would take much longer to charge a phone than it would in a car . I'm new to scootering, so no - I am not sure on anything, but as long as it powers the gps for instance, I don't care if it charges.

I got this issue resolved - this didn't come with a inline fuse (it has the cig lighter along with 2 USB ports), but I went ahead and rewired all the way down to the battery, didn't much time at all - The electrical seems solid - so we'll see how it does on my 120mi run this saturday.
