I have a QMB139 GY6 retro Chinese scooter that has been problematic to say the least. Most recently I'm having trouble with the transmission..roller weights bad its eating belts i need a new clutch..etc basically I need to replace most of the CVT which I'm at 2500 miles so it is time. Has any ever thought of just using a chain attached to the rear wheel would this work with a centrifugal clutch how much mod would be required. I just thought of it while I was riding and decided to ask the question.

Hey guys, I just bought a 2 second hand Mini Chopper 49cc 2 stroke and was just looking for some general info. I have a retro styled GY6 so Im totally out of my element with this one. Are the engines in the mini choppers different than 2 strokes used in scooters. Does anyone know how to find parts for them or were serial numbers on the bikes are. Just any info you may have would be awesome. I havent got it running yet but I think it will be a fun toy when I am done.

Hello to everyone out there, my name is Michael from Pinehurst NC. I have a retro GY6 Chinese scooter, not sure what brand it actually is. I have had it for about 3 months now and it has been a constant struggle trying to work all the bugs out, but on the plus side it has sparked my interest in scooter repair and mods. Attachments:

Thanks for the replies, this is my first time on a scooter forum. I think Jonway may be right, when I bought it the guy said it was a Sunny Retro but I can't find it any where on the net. On the sides it says MD50QT-12. I'm planning on doing a BBK on it and am looking for as much info on it before-hand, the plastic body work is the biggest concern I have since the engine is a 139QMB and they are all pretty much the same. Also anyone who has had on of these scooter please tell me your thoughts on it. I am not a fan so far it seems every time I get one bug fixed something else is popping up. Attachments:

I bought this scooter from a local dealer about 3 months ago and it has been nothing but problems. I think i have most of it worked out now and its running smooth-ish but i still have no idea the actual name of the scooter. It is Chinese 50cc 139qmb on the vin tag I can see it was manufactured by a company called JMStar powersports. Any info you have would be awesome. Attachments:
