On my 50cc short case, I can just get the belt over the crankshaft with the clutch compressed. So I have one of the Harbour Freight emergency 12v impact wrenches I carry along with a spare belt, easy to change on the side of the road if necessary!

Is there any conceivable way the center stand can come down while riding? If you are going in a straight line it can't do more harm than dragging on the ground. What if you were turning? I'm seriously thinking somehow the kick starter is engaging and shooting down causing the center stand to come down. This might make sense as the two metal tabs on either side were bent and the center stand was all the way forward. The reason I ask is I asked the wife to try out the new scoot and compare it to her's. Made it about 2 blocks to the stop sign and started off taking a right when she wiped out. I noticed the center stand was down all the way (thrown forward even as those tabs have not been welded up yet). Maybe this is why the previous owner wiped out?!? I understand it's pointed backwards and even coming down shouldn't do more than drag on the ground. I'm just confused. F(^&ck I feel like s%$#t now. This is what i mean by forward There are a few circumstances in which the slightest contact with the ground can cause inexperienced riders to wipe out when least expected. When taking off, with that center stand pointing forward, if it touched the ground it would have taken just a bit of weight off the rear tire as she was applying throttle, leading to a sudden loss of traction. Another common situation is during turns, inexperienced riders like to put their foot out, or lean too far allowing the kickstand to touch ground, and end up causing sudden loss of traction leading to a slide out. That scooter is not safe even for experienced riders till that center stand is fixed! If you can't fix it now, remove it till you can!

Can you get a better picture of your muffler? It looks like someone welded two, 50cc mufflers together... Not to sidetrack the thread, but I would like to know what kind of difference that muffler setup makes too. Looks like it's using a stock header, so I'm guessing it doesn't help much, but it does look kinda cool!

Put a stick in, mark it at the top of the filler tube, then measure. You don't want it touching metal.

Just for future reference, put a tracker unit on any scoots you have. You'll know where is and the cops will have all the proof they need. Agreed, good advice! At less than $40 and $10 for three months service, it can't be beat!

I did more gps runs on the way to work I believe I can do 60gps gonna do the video next week will post after. Cant wait to see it ! , I'm on a 70mph goal . I believe I'm there , I just need to verify this. I'll also post a video soon. millsc is shooting for 60 with a 139QMB! I'm sure you'll make 70 with your 157QMJ, but 60 on a BBK'd 50 is insane!

Any reputable mechanic would ask for the keys so they don't have to break into the ignition to start it. You dont have to break the ignition, just pull off the front plastics (screwdriver) and hotwire.

FYI- In Vegas the cops will only take a report, and only if you have the MCO and bill of sale, then they will do nothing.

My issue is , if this guy is such a " master mechanic" , doesn't he know you need the keys to fix the thing ? No you don't, you only need a screwdriver to start it.

Have you re-jetted the carb? You will most likely need to change your variator weights as well. What exactly is the issue? You should definitely have noticeable increase in power, but the CVT will need to be adjusted to take advantage of it.
